Palo vs Enchante

My husband and I are really looking forward to having our children enjoy the kids’ clubs while we enjoy some adult meals onboard the Wish. We are sailing for 4 nights and don’t want to miss our rotational dining. We would like to try both Palo and Enchante, perhaps one for dinner and the other for brunch. We are first time cruisers. Which do you like better for brunch or dinner? Are any of these meals easier to book than others? Are these restaurants worth the upcharge? We do really enjoy fine dining. Thanks for tips or advice!

Which do you like better for brunch or dinner?

We are in the party that we prefer Palo dinner over Palo Brunch. We loved the old buffet style, and while the food hasn't really changed, the memory of what "was" really bother DW. We prefer Palo Dinner.

We did a Remy Brunch when we couldn't get into Remy dinner on a short notice cruise (1st world problem alert! ). It was astounding. Like Remy dinner, it's a multi course meal (5 if I remember correctly) of small portions that are lighter than the dinner fare and still outstanding. Enchante brunch is the same. We prefer the Remy/Enchante brunch over Palo

Remy & Enchante dinners are experiences. Not much different between the two, except that Remy has 2 menus to choose from whereas Enchante is a single menu. See Scott's blog at https://disneycruiselineblog.com/ under menus for details. They're the same price ($135 pp + tip), but if you love fine dining like we do, it's amazing. DW and I get all gussied up - her in a gown and me in my tux - and have a grand time. Whenever wer'e on the the Dream/Wish class, I always book Remy/Enchante for dinner if it's available.

Are any of these meals easier to book than others?

Palo brunch seems to get filled up first, as the upcharge brunches are only provided on sea days - except we once had a stunning Remy Brunch inport Nassau . Perhaps that's the exception that proves the rule. I usually book us Palo dinner first night, and the Remy/Enchante on a subsequent night. Our kids have tapped out of cruising when they hit #17, but DW and I are still going strong, and it makes it easier to schedule our dinners. Of note, you can make a dining request for a specific night (e.g. Animator's Palate first night or whatever) If you don't care to miss that MDR. Again, check Scott's blog for the menus

Are these restaurants worth the upcharge?

There are many opinions here and many will tell you no, it's not worth it. To us, it most definitely is worth it. We love fine dining ashore and afloat and never miss Palo (if on the classic ships) or both when on Dream/Wish classes

Happy sailing! Remember, Disney cruises are just like those potato chips. You can't have just one. We cruised in 2014 just to see what it was all bout. We just finished our 22nd cruise...

The steakhouse version of Palo on the Wish is a significant upgrade for dinner over the other ships. First, the mushroom risotto is back on the menu, and second, the steak choices are significantly upgraded, especially with the availability of the Japanese A5 Wagyu, which is simply amazing. So IMO dinner > brunch.
For Enchanté, on the other hand, the dinner menu is more limited compared to the other ships because it’s really only the French side. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still amazing, but we prefer the variety at Remy. Brunch, however, is outstanding (and substitutions are available for dishes that might not be to your taste). It’s also a more relaxing experience, and the champagne pairings that are available are lovely and a good value. So IMO brunch > dinner.

If you aren’t sailing concierge, brunch at either restaurant will be almost impossible to book as a first timer.

Also not sure your kids ages but not all kids do well at the clubs, especially if they are younger. Given that it is probably safest to do Palo since that can be done in 90 mins or so whereas enchante is a 3+ hour experience.
