After reading a lot of postings about running to Palo right away to get reservations, is it only that hectic on the Magic? We went to make reservations as soon as we boarded the ship (12:00 p.m.) and waited an hour outside of Wavebands before they opened the doors. Only 5 or 6 other couples came up to wait as well. It just seemed odd that we had no trouble booking a reservation, where as some other posters have.

So are you saying they started taking reservations at 1pm?

You were on a 3-day cruise, right?

I think it depends on what time you arrive and what day you want to dine, when we got there around 2:00 the last day was booked, so we had to choose the day we were to eat at AP, thus missing the dinner "show". There was quite a crowd (more than you experienced) waiting for reservations. Our tablemates were there when they first opened and said there was a crowd of people there as well.

Yup, they started at exactly 1 on the dot. I had read in quite a few previous postings that a lot of cruisers lost out on their reservations because they opened earlier than what was printed.

It was kinda neat sitting outside of Wavebands....lots of cast members were coming back and forth, and were very pleasant and fun to talk to. It was nice not having to worry about a crowd of people waiting as well :) Palo was worth it! :)

Maybe it's just less hectic during off-peak times? I never really had much of a problem on a 4 day.

I also think less people eat at Palo on a 3 or 4 day because they don't want to miss a dinner rotation--especially on a first cruise. Just my theory. Oh well, less people trying to get them means more ressies for me :teeth: !
