Palo on Formal night?

We're going on the 7night Western cruise and I'm beginning to put together our plans for Palo etc. We will probably get the APLAPLA rotation (due to DS7) and our formal night is the 3rd night at Lumiere's. I was thinking that since we needed to get dressed up anyway, why not do Palo's on that night? Pros? Cons?

We had dinner at Palo on formal night and it was great! We were both very dressed up and it really made our dining experience there feel extra special!We were on the rotation that put us in Parrot Cay on formal night so it seemed like a perfect night for us to dine at Palo instead. Having done so now, I would do it again regardless of my rotation. It's nice to be very dressed up when they come to the table to take your picture too. I think you will enjoy dining at Palo on formal night. We certainly did.

You do realize that while dressing up at Palo is nice, it is no longer required with the new more casual dress code there.

We booked our Palo Dinner reservation on formal night (I think) ... not purposely, but looking at the schedule for the 7 day Eastern, we thought we would want to do it on an 'at Sea' day, thought it would be fun to wait till near the end of the cruise, so we reserved our Palo Dinner for Thursday evening. My understanding is that formal night is also on Thursday evening on the 7 night Eastern Cruise, is that true? Just wondering if we did the right thing ???

No, actually I didn't know that they changed the dress code. Let me take a quick look at my Passporter...Hmmm...it still says jacket and ties for men and dresses/pantsuits for women. Where can I find the new dress code?

Hi MSWint, from my Passporter I show Formal night on the 7 day Eastern as being Day 2 and Semi-Formal night as being on Day 6, same as Captain's Gala night.

Yes, on the Eastern, 2nd Night (Sunday) is Formal Dress, 6th Night (Thursday) is Semi-Formal Dress (and Captain's Gala menu, a.k.a., Lobster Night). The Palo dress code has been lowered to remove the requirement of a jacket for men, though as the previous poster aptly points out, being dressed up in Palo does make the evening more special and the photos will preserve the special nature of the evening (this response was typed while looking at the Palo photo of DW and I, blue blazer and mickey tie on me, this past April)...
