I'm kind of on the fence about the Palo. Everyone here raves about the Palo...and yet, in five DCL cruises, we have never been. I know I don't want to give up one of our family dinners to eat there....but I recently learned it is open for brunch. So I'm thinking this is something the wife and I can do on a sea day.....if for nothing else, just to see what all the fuss is about and see a part of the ship we have never seen. I mentioned this to my wife and she said we'd have to get all dressed up and she was not really interested. We are not really into getting all doll'd up to eat.

So two questions, do you have to wear suit/tie or dress to Palo brunch? Would we have to pay $30 to dine there and does that include the tip? OK, that was 3 questions.

No, you don't have to wear a suit and tie. Brunch is more relaxed, but Jeans and shorts are not allowed. My DH wore Dockers and a nice golf shirt. Women can wear nice dresses, pant suits or slacks and a nice shirt. The $30 includes the tip, however, some tip extra.

You do not have to get dressed up for brunch (or even dinner for that matter). The only thing they do enforce is no shorts and a collared shirt for men. You do pay the extra charge, even for brunch. DCL claims that part of it is the tip for the server, but we always tip extra.

DH and I did the brunch on our honeymoon on the 4 night cruise. Like you we didn't want to give up our any of our dinners at the other restaurants. We dressed like a nice casual. No sneaker or shorts. We really enjoyed the brunch and are thinking of doing on our cruise is August again.

Nice casual is the dress.
It is a very relaxing two hours. There is no need to hurry. But you can easily overeat and have a "food coma." If you know what I mean. The food selection is quite good.
Go and enjoy.

We really like the Palo brunch. I would recommend it.

The brunch charge also includes 1 glass of champagne or a mimosa.
We first experienced Palo last summer on our 8th cruise and did brunch. It was very nice and something we will do again. Still not sure we want to have dinner there, we like the dining rooms.

Mine included 3 Mimosas!:rotfl: Loved our waitress! Had her for Palo Dinner too. Her name was Andrea and she was from Brazil. Very sweet:)!

We felt the same way but we decided to give the brunch a try this last summer. We fell in love with the brunch. I do not think we will do the dinner but we definetly will want to do the brunch again.

We feel the same way about our dinners...but LOVE the Palo brunch. Docker style pants and a nice polo are fine. $30 includes gratuity...but we usually throw a little extra in. It is well worth the money.

We did the brunch and the dinner. We absolutely loved the brunch, we will definitely do the brunch again. I would highly recomend the brunch!

If I had to pick I would do the brunch over the dinner. Dinner is great but brunch is even greater.

Agreed - definetly worth a try. Believe it or not I actually really like their cavier (which I normally don't like).

Dinner is more dressy than brunch so if you don't want to get to dressed up I would definetly do brunch. You can wear items to brunch you wear to your rotation dinners so you don't have to bring an extra set of clothes, etc.
