Is the chocolate souffle' available at brunch at Palo??

It wasn't on the menu for brunch as of 1/24 Eastern, but there is so much incredible food at that brunch I'm not sure how I could have stuffed it in. However, if you requested it I'll bet they would prepare one especially for you. Has anyone tried this?

Can you tell me what time brunch is at Palo?

I don't remember what time it starts, but our reservation was for 11:30 am and around 1:00 when we left they were setting up for High Tea.

Is it acceptable to do brunch and dinner at Palo? If so, do you sign up for both as embarktion?

It is definitely acceptable, and desirable, to have both brunch and dinner at Palo. Both are incredible experiences with different foods being offered. You can sign up for both upon embarkation at Rockin Bar D.

You have your choice of three times for brunch reservations 10:30, 11:00 and 11:30. Brunch is our favorite over dinner so if you don't do both, be sure to do brunch.

I personally wouldn't do them on the same day tho!! Believe me, you won't have room.... *grin*

I could be wrong but my guess would be no. Since the souffles need to be ordered and made for each person I don't think that fits with the brunch schedule. I thought most of bruch was buffet including the desserts. I've never been to bruch so I could be wrong.

No sign of chocolate souffle on the 2 occasions we have done brunch. But believe me there were plenty of other scrummy desserts to choose from. Besides it's a good excuse to do dinner as well as brunch!

Thanks everyone. I guess it was wishful thinking. LOL DH and I want to try the chocolate souffle', but were trying to avoid having dinner at Palo because we don't know which of the dinners we'd want to skip during our regular dinner time. We want to do brunch and the afternoon tea there, though. Oh, the decisions we have to make ;) :p

They don't have the chocolate souflet at brunch. They do have lemon merangue pie. No joke!! Its not like any lemon merangue you have ever had. Its mild and creamy. the topping fluffy. When our server suggested it I thought she was pulling our leg. I was wrong and it was terrific!! And there is tons of other nummy things to try. Fruit pizza is one. There was some sort of sweet bread and if you filled it with jam it was great. And more and more choices.

For breakfast anywhere on the ship there are freshly made croisants. I like the chocolate filled ones. DW loves the plain ones. We have some every day.

SeaSpray,

There are two things you could try if you do not want to skip any of your dinners. If you have early dinning you could make a late reservation in Palo, go to early dinner and eat lightly then go to Palo and have an appitizer and the souffle. (The ever popular "Double Dipping") Or you could mention to you servers early in the week that you would love to try the souffle from Palo but could not get a reservation. They just might surprise you. Last year on our cruise we were supposed to go to Palo on Friday night (for the 2nd time) and our servers talked us out of it. They kept telling us the menus would be the same and what you could get in Palo you could get in all the restaurants. So when we went to dinner I jokingly told our server that there was no Palo pizza on the menu. The next thing I knew we had a pizza from Palo. I probably could have gotten a souffle too, but I did not want to be greedy. Not sure if this would always work, but it is worth a try.

Yes, now I come to think of it, our server brought a chocolate souffle from Palo for my daughter on the last evening - she is too young for Palo at the moment.

I bet they could, but ask early as they are made to order and take about 1/2 hr to create...our server in Palos gave us an extra souffle after dinner, to take to the kids in the cabin, as they wanted to try it... :)

Personally I was not impressed with it, but I have to be in the right mood for chocolate apparently! *grin*

(My waist line is happy about this little twist in my personality...)

Thanks again for the replies, everyone :) I think we now have some options, and we really want to try the souffle' :)

The4OfUs: Believe me, my waistline WON'T thank me for eating the desserts, but my tastebuds will be cheering me on to try the souffle'! :p

P.S. I'm not a big chocolate fan either, but that souffle', especially with the vanilla bean sauce, just really looks good! :teeth:

LOL! Oh I definitely recommend trying it, without a doubt! Its funny, maybe I dont remember it in a standout sort of way because after we got those, our server asked if we wanted to try any other desserts...we said sure, we'll sample some.

So she disappeared, and came back with 5 other choices (or maybe it was only 4...) I thought it was to present them to us to choose which we wanted, like they do with fancy restaurants sometimes, but no, they were for us to eat! And we did...oh my goodness did we... *grin*

Lucky for me my fancy ball gown had forgiving waist! ;)

Woo hoo! I can't wait to try the desserts at Palo. :hyper: I really need to get going and lose some weight before this cruise so I don't end up exploding. LOL
