Perhaps this is just a coincidence, but I have noticed that people posting about Palo ressies on the 3 day seem to have an easier time getting reservations later in the cruise. (i.e. waiting until later in the day to get a reservation rather than going first thing)

My wishful thinking is that more first timers are on 3-day cruises and may not be as informed about Palo's. Members of my party want to take a peek at Palo's before making a reservation. I am also the sole researcher/planner in my party and I don't want to have to leave them to their own devices while I hustle off immediately after boarding to get reservations.

Is Palo's easier to schedule on the 3 day or am I not reading enough posts to get the whole picture?

Thanks

This past August, I walked in to Palo on our 2nd night and was seated immediately. There were empty tables, too. Now there may be more than one reason for this. It was 6:00 pm-early, I think, for adult dining. And the second night.

We ate at Palos on our third night at 8PM and there were several empty tables when we entered and when we left. I believe the ship was full!

We sailed on the Wonder 10.21 and had no problem getting Palo reservations the first day for the exact time we wanted.

Thanks guys, just the stuff I wanted to hear!

We have several variables to deal with to figure out when we will go ( as I imagine most people do ) and I will feel less stressed if I don't have to take care of this immediately.

And if I go to make a reservation later, and Palo is completely booked, I hold none of you responsible for my frivolous behavior.

Thanks

We were also on the 10/21 Wonder!

I think it would be more of a problem if you needed a specific night and time to match up with babysitting services or something. If you are flexible, I think you should be fine. We ate dinner there on the first night of our 3 night cruise and it was half empty.

If you do find Palos is completely booked, consider putting your name on the waiting list. I think you'll find the chances are good that they will have a cancellation, especially on Castaway Cay day. If you are able to board early, making the Palos ressie is a snap, takes no time at all and you'd get your first choice of times. Maybe the reason that Palos is easier to book on the 3 day is because you have to completely miss one of the three restaurants and maybe there's more first timers on the 3 day. But if you can have dinner at Palos, my two cents says do it!!
