Hi!

We are going to Palm Springs after DL and San Diego. We will be there probably 3 nights.

I am looking for recommendations on hotels and golf courses. We will be there mid-week towards the end of September.

We are two adults with moderate golf skills. We also enjoy some pool time but that is secondary.

Also any great local restaurants? Not chains.

Thanks!

The Marriot resort in Palm Desert is very nice.::yes:: I would recommend LG's steakhouse. My mom lives in Palm dessert. We just returned from a visit and had dinner at the Cliff House which was excellent. Vicki's in Indian wells is another great restaurant that come to mind. I'm not that familiar with Palm Springs, but more with Palm Desert area. The whole desert area is a mecca of great restaurants. I would check our El Paseo drive. Lots of restaurants and great shops.

Thank you! We have been looking at the Marriott.

For the golf course, Taquiz creek . If you can tell me your handicap my husband may be able to let you know some more. He has played any there.

That's one if the courses we are gong to book. Along with Escena and one of the Indian Wells courses I think.

DH handicap is 10 and I'm 14

We usually stay in downtown Palm Springs, there are a ton of restaurants there. Las Consuelas is a favorite of ours as is Kaiser Grille. Usually on Thursday nights they have Village Fest which is a street fair on the main drag (Palm Canyon Drive), we love to stroll around and check out the local artists and bakeries, farmers, etc.

In Rancho Mirage, The River is a pretty cool outdoor shopping center with a bunch or restaurants. There are ton more restaurants in the surrounding area, some are chains but there are also locals.

We usually stay at the Hilton downtown Palm Springs which is a moderate place but the pool is big and the spa is great. We've also stayed at the JW Marriott, which has beautiful public spaces but the rooms were just ok and since it's a huge hotel, you might have a long walk.

Quick update. We played Escena and Indian Canyon South. Loved them both and can't wait to return!

Enjoyed the Thursday night festival.

Thanks for all advice.

:thumbsup2
