 Hi everyone! I have a 2 1/2 year old son and was thinking of getting him a Pal Mickey during our stay at Disney. I have never seen or heard one but saw the description on the Disney site. Anyone have any experience with it, does it work like they say it does? Also, how much does it cost?

They are currently something like $75 at the parks! I got one (old one, but new in the box) on ebay a month or so ago, paid $44 incl shipping. If you go over to the budget board here they are talking of getting him (old version, not supposed to be very different from new one) for $13.99 plus shipping, they list a phone number (it's an outlet store in FL, Destin, I think). Wish i had waited, but now it's only a few weeks til we go and I wouldn't have had time to get him delivered.
I have the one in the box, for my daughter's bday on Friday.....he seems cute as can be and is supposed to be pretty helpful at the parks with all the info he gives.

at Caribbean Beach Resort I want to say it was $65.00.

I did see alot of kids with them that liked them but I also seen a couplr get returned because they got "stuck" on a saying and wouldn't stop.

We have an older one and I think it's more fun at home than the parks! But they said they have updated the number of things he will tell you in the parks so I'm interested to see how things change this trip! I think you can get them on eBay as the previous post mentions for much cheaper if you don't want the special edition.

I don't really know if your child would enjoy it completely. Most of the games were 'If that is here, squeeze my right hand. Squeeze my left hand if that is not here" or Mickey says where they squeeze right, left or tummy. My 4 yold had trouble with that. He also tells jokes.

If you can afford it I'd wait until I got to Disney and let him play with one inthe box. Seems to me I read that it sings now. Just my two cents. :wave2:

I just received the 50th Anniversary Pal Mickey that I purchased off Ebay. I got him for $48 which included shipping. It didn't come with instructions but I figured I could always ask about his use at the hotel or on the Dis Boards. He is small, a little heavier than I expected but I am excited to use him. I thought it would be fun for my son, 3 while we wait for a ride or show. I have a feeling I will be the one wearing him--not my son or husband. I saved about $25 as opposed to buying him on site. I wouldn't pay more than $30 for a 2004 version off Ebay. Maybe start watching one and see how much he goes for. GOOD LUCK!

My 2.25 year old wasn't too interested in him last December at WDW. Too many other cool things to see and do!! Plus, he didn't get that he needed to press Mickey's paw when requested, and could barely hear him in the parks. Not to mention that Mickey is heavy to carry around - and carry him you must, he's too tempting to leave in the stroller unattended. Unless you can grab one for $13.99 at the outlets, I'd save the money this trip. I don't think that we're going to bother to bring ours next week!

We bought the special edition Pal Mickey last week at Once Upon a Toy for $65. My DS 6 LOVED him. He gives a lot of information, tells jokes and sings. He would let us know when there were short waits on certain rides and let us know when the parades were. I enjoyed him as much as my DS! Carrying him was not a big problem, they give you a belt clip and a lanyard.

In my opinion he was worth every penny! Also, if you go to the Disney website and play the memory game, you can print out a certificate to get a Pal Mickey special edition pin, but I think this ends Sept 30th.

I went to the site and couldn't fine it. :confused3 Would you happen to have it??

TIA

I just got 3 of them with shipping for under $50 from Character Premier 954-846-7161. (Thanks to SheDaisy that clued everyone in). :cool1: I've played with them in the box and think that they are awfully cute. Even if the kids don't want to lug him around all day at the parks, he'll make a good souvenier. They were $13.99 each. (The old version.)
