I'm sure this has been asked many times and I hope I can ask again. I (57) would like to buy a Pal Mickey when I go down in December with my sister (44). Will he make us nuts or will we instantly fall in love with him?

I'm wondering the same thing. I (46)am going to buy one for my solo trip in September, then take him along on the family trip in October. One good thing, if you don't want to keep him, you can sell him on ebay for just about what you paid for him. I saw one go for $55 a couple of weeks ago, and I think they retail for $60.

Another option is to rent him, I think for about $10. As far as I have heard, if you like him, you can buy him and they will credit you for the $10.

I am 43, and I just fell in Love with him!::yes:: I had such a blast with him at WDW, even at home!

We're looking forward to Pal Mickey too. I don't like on Ebay the person that is selling them say they're had to get. They're not hard to get at all when you're in Disney.

We weren't sure if we'd like Pal Mickey or not.....so we rented one for a few days, I think it was about 8.00 a day..........we decided we DID want one so they just deduct whatever you paid to rent it from the 60.00 & give you a new one.

They're very hard to get on ebay. I see them only once in a while, and they always sell for within a few dollars of what they cost new.

That being said, I really don't understand why someone would pay that close to retail for a used item from someone they don't know. I haven't checked, but couldn't someone just call WDW and ask them to send one? Maybe they will ONLY sell them in WDW, I know they don't sell them at the Disney Stores. That seems unlikely, Disney turning down a sale!

I'm 57, and I bought one last year and took it along in January also. I plan to take it along in October too! Really fun and funny, and besides, in October we will have kids with us!

I'm giving one to my 40 y.o. brother-in-law for his birthday. He's a real trivia freak and is going to love hearing all the tidbits! I'm looking for a "manly" lanyard for him (no princesses allowed!).

I LOVE my Pal Mickey, I play with him all the time, and I can't wait to bring him back to WDW in December!

We got ours at the Grand Floridian gift shop but they have them all over the parks (I assume, I do know that they have them at MK because we had to get ours activated there). Just ask a cast member when you get in - they'll know where to direct you.

They sell Pal Mickey in the resorts and the resort hotels only (or at least that was the way it was for us). I bought a Pal Mickey at OKW for us and enjoyed it so much that I decided to purchase one for one of my DS's friends on our last day, only to find out that they are not carried at World of Disney or anywhere at Disney Marketplace.

We loved our pal mickey! Our daughter still plays with him everyday. :D

What exactly does the Pal Mickey do?

I have heard of them but not completely sure what they do?

Also...may be a stupid question...how do you hold onto them on the rides and what if he gets wet?

Thanks!

He tells cute (corny type) jokes, tells you when parades or shows were about to start, made funny comments especially on Tower of Terror, you can play games and he kept our daughter who was 2 at the time occupied. If you didn't hear him you can squeeze his stomach and he will repeat what he said. He would come on as we passed certain buildings on Main Street and give little bits of info on them. He would aslo tell us that we should go to a certain ride because there was no line at the time. He came with a clip and he didn't get in the way at all.

He fit in the bag we brought to the park (which wasn't big at all) so it didn't bother us to carry him around. I've read posts where people suggest putting a lanard strap around him to carry him as well. He could clip on to belts or your waistbands too.

I love my Pal Mickey (I'm 34). He didn't get on my nerves at all. I kinda got on my kids nerves playing the jokes for them several times so they could laugh though.:teeth: I liked hearing the little tidbits of info he had to give though. And, he'll remind you of parade times.:)
