While we were at WDW last week we bought a Pal Mickey. What fun! He's not inexpensive, but is really a neat friend to have with you in the parks.

Great to hear it- I've ordered a Pal Mickey to be waiting for my kids when we arrive at the GF next month (2yo and 4yo). I hope he'll be a fun toy for them (my problem will be stopping them from fighting over him!)

We hear that if Pal Mickey is a hit, Pal Minnie will coming next. Make sure that you find someone who knows about the switch to turn Mickey on so that he talks about the park you're in. We thought for a while that we had a really dumb Mickey until a CM made him work right! LOL. Have fun.....you might be able to settle any fights between the kids by enjoying Mickey yourself. We, DH, 58 and I, 55, sure had fun listening to him.

Where did you hear about Pal Minnie? I planned on ordering Pal Mickey to be waiting in our hotel also, but if Minnie is coming out soon, I might get her instead. I heard that Pal Pooh was coming out next year.

The same CM who showed us how to make Mickey talk about the MK while we were there told us about Minnie coming in the future. I asked a second CM at our hotel and she said Minnie would be out if Mickey is a success. Like you, we wanted both so we didn't fight over only having one.

WE REFUSE TO GROW UP!

I thought I had a dumb Pal Mickey when I first took him to the Magic Kingdom, after about an hour I checked his back and discovered I hadn't switched him on.

It's good to know we weren't the only ones!!!

We all enjoyed our Pal Mickey at the parks, and DD has slept with him(grasped in her arms!) each night since we returned in early June. We just turned him off at home.
BTW-we bought ours after checking in at the CR and the CM at the gift shop unboxed him very carefully and turned him on for us:D . With all those twisties, I was glad she offered!
He really IS worth the money and as SP holders, he will be going back a lot in the next year:p !

Anyone have a pic or more information? Also, anyone willing to share how much $ it is?

Do you think it's worth it if after our trip next year we probably won't go back for 2 or 3 years?

We paid about $50 for him. You can rent a Pal Mickey for $8 a day with a $50 deposit. If I could figure out how to get a photo on here, I'd post one.

I bought Pal Mickey as soon as I got to MK. He was a lot of fun and gave us a lot of good and interesting information. There were 6 of us all adults and we had a ball with him. I can not wait to go back and use him again.

You can see what Pay Mickey looks like by doing a search for him on ebay. I'm not selling any there, not a personal plug, but that is how I found out what he looks like.

ok! found a pic:

found an article:

and now I want one! LOL! Still need to know... can you buy him at any shops or only at the rental place?

Thanks for the info. on Minnie. We are not going until Jan. so if they are going to do a Minnie we will definitely wait for her to come out.

Disneymoon04 Love the pic. It was hard to get a feel for the size seeing it on Ebay but your picture shows it perfectly. I thought it was much larger so I am pleased to see it is not what I imagined.

Even hubby says GET ONE :bounce:

I have a friend going in Sept. and we may buy one together and split the cost.

I know he's definitely available at the resort shops- GF concierge is getting mine at M Mouse Mercantile. If you have trouble finding him, you can always hop off the monorail at the GF and buy one- the lines will probably be shorter than at the stores in the MK and you might get more help from a CM!

*123JOANNA123* & unclescroogefan, were are you planning on purchasing him from to have waiting at the hotel for you? This sounds like a cute idea and I love to surprise my DD's with something special each trip and this would be great. We are going down during the week prior to Christmas so the timing for a Mom & Dad early present is great.

Although if it is packaged as badly as a Barbie doll with everything under the sun keeping it in it's proper place it might be worth it to stop in a gift shop.;)

Pal Mickey sounds fab ~ Think I will have to get one!!!!

Yes, I too would love to know where you can purchase Pal Mickey and have him waiting in your room for you.

Since this trip is our family Christmas present and other family members have expressed an interest in buying things for our trip, I might suggest this to the grandparents.

My son will be 11 then, but since the adults in this thread seemed to enjoy it so much, I think the three of us together will enjoy it tremendously. We also have another 3 person family going with us and I think it would be a nice Christmas gift from us to them. This is so cool. Another thing I'd know nothing about if it weren't for y'all!

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! :teeth:

I believe the following to be the places at which you may rent Pal Mickey:
Magic Kingdom Park -- Main Street Cinema
Epcot -- Main Entrance Gift Stop
Disney-MGM Studios -- Main Entrance Package Pickup Window
Disney's Animal Kingdom -- The Outpost Shop

Pal Mickey is an interactive tour guide and companion, which tells Guests about park show times, Character information, and entertains them with jokes, Disney fun facts, and games.

Pal Mickey will be available for rental or purchase at merchandise locations in the parks and resorts and at Once Upon a Toy in the Downtown Disney® Marketplace in April. The cost to rent Pal Mickey is $8 a day, with a $50 credit-card deposit. Guests can also purchase their very own Pal Mickey or take home their rented Pal Mickey for $46.94 plus tax ($50). The purchase price will be automatically charged to their credit card (less the amount already paid for rental).

We're staying concierge and as part of their pre-planning service they are getting it for me and charging it to my cc. That way, it's waiting for the kids when we arrive and I don't have to spend an eternity in the parks getting him out of his box!!

If you phoned the resort ahead of time, I'm sure they could organise something.
