I'm not sure but I think I saw a group of people getting to try out Pal Mickey. They stood around in a group then a CM with a suit on started giving them out. We were eating lunch at Tonys so I couldn't run out and ask questions. They are so cute!!
Its an interactive plush toy that - thanks to sensors that already embedded throughout the entire WDW resort - will act as entertainer / ambassador for these guests' Disney World trip. Among the many things that this doll is reportedly programmed to do is:
1. The plush will make suggestions about what the guest can do next while touring the park. ("Hey, we're passing 'Small World.' Do you want to go ride on that?")
2. The plush will try to entertain the guest while they're waiting in line. ("Press my left hand if you'd like me to tell a joke.")
3. The plush will also try to keep the guest updated on what's going on in the park ("The 3 o'clock parade starts in just 15 minutes") or any unexpected changes in the schedule ("Aw, shucks! The 3 o'clock parade has been postponed due to rain. Let's find something fun and indoors to do.")
It's supposed to cost about $50 to buy. You will also be able to rent it for $8 a day.
We will be there Apr 30 thru May 4th. I definately have to buy me one for Mothers Day. Will they do anything once you take them out of WDW Or do they have to be in WDW to talk?
What a lot of great info . . . I personally can't wait for this to come out. My MIL is blind; she's going with us in October and this will be absolutely GREAT for her!!!
Thanks so much Norestneeded!! Do you think if I can get one on our trip in June that it will still respond to the parks when we go back in October? Has anyone heard of its park life expectancy?? This is going to be amazing. My kids love plush anyway, so even if the plush only does the games at home , he will be a great keepsake.
