Hello,
I did a search and didn't see any threads about the Pal Mickey.
I don't know much about it and wanted to hear what people that bought it think of it?
I was wondering if you could use it every trip or is it only good for the trip you buy it for?
Why did you buy it?
Thanks

I bought Pal Mickey and returned him because I could not hear him in the parks so he did not help me in the parks just another item to hold. However I know lots of people who buy him and play with him at home they sell little clothes for him and he talks if you want him for that purpose he is worth it. I wouldn't recommend him as a tour guide. If my kids ever asked me to buy him for them I would.

Yo Amesbury ! Danvers here ! We were at WDW in Aug'07, and finally decided to pick up a pal Mickey. We had always debated but had never decided till that last trip. We got it at the VMK center on Main St in the MK. My kids (DS 16, DD 11) loved it. You can use it every time you go to Disney. We haven't tied it again, but there was a thread on here about it a while back. I believe we paid $65 for him. My DD took him everywhere for the 10 days we were there, never letting him out of her sight. Hope this helps. Good luck ! :thumbsup2

I LOVE my pal Mickey! :lovestruc

But I am a little ridiculous when it comes to Disney.

I love the little shake he gives when he is walking by something that sets him off.

I got mine in January, and they said he has a transmitter in his nose that will download new information when you come to the parker at a later time, so I can't wait for my next trip to try it out.

I just have to take very good care of his nose until then!!

We really liked pal mickey on our first trip. It was interesting. He did have some good information. I am told that he will work every year if you bring him back. We even bought clothes and dressed him everyday :goodvibes

What kind of things or tips did Mickey give you when you were in the parks?

Plus how do you get the cool stuff under your message to show up every time without putting it in there every time?????

Hi Scrappingirl,
I have absolutley no information on Pal Mickey but just noticed that you are going to WDW the same day as us and got a little rush of pre-holiday excitement which I had to share :)

:woohoo: :woohoo:

Hi there!

i bought pal mickey on our last trip to wdw, and my boyfriend and i (both in our 20s) absolutely loved him!
he cost about $65, and the outfits are around $10, i think.
He returned to the World last year with my sister (and she bought him the safari costume for trips to AK!), and he will be coming with us again this october... so he should work everytime you return to the parks :)

he says some interesting facts, i especially noticed this at animal kingdom, he even told us about a nature-trail near the Tree of Life that i'd never known of before, and the meaning behind the ribbons tied to trees near Mount Everest.

when he has something to say, he wiggles a little & giggles.. and if you want to hear what he's got to say then you squeeze his hand :)

many CMs really like the Pal's and shake his hand as you walk by (we wore him around the neck on the lanyard provided).. one lady even said "i think that mouse signs my pay-check!" !!

he can sense when you're leaving the parks too and says things like "what a great day, think i'll take a nap now"... he won't say anything outside the 4 theme parks, but you can squeeze his hand and play disney related games with him, even when you're back home.

all in all, i would definitely recommend a Pal Mickey, it definitely added a little extra magic to our trip :wizard:

Hi. I got a Pal Mickey for Mother's Day on our trip in May of 2005. We're leaving for Disney on Sunday and I was trying to figure out if he'll still work. I emailed Disney and asked them if my 2005 Pal Mickey will still work, since I have various rumors about him on other boards. I was told that he will still work just as he did in 2005, however, he will NOT have the updated information in him of attractions that have been added since 2005, such as Expedition Everest. So, now I'm trying to decide if Pal will be joining us on this trip or will he get a brother on this upcoming trip!!

We enjoyed Pal Mickey. At times he was a little hard to hear and other times we where so busy having fun, we forgot he was hanging around our neck. Kids always enjoy him.

We bought him last Sept. at the POLY gift shop. Kids liked him, he told them jokes and things that helped in long lines. We lost him at the evening parade in MK, I think he must have fallen out of the stroller in the dark. :sad1:

Pal Mickey will work on every trip. In fact we had one of the original Pal Mickey's bought when they first came out. On our last trip he didn't work. :( We bought new batteries, but no luck. He wouldn't work. We took him to the Camera Shop (I think in MK??) and there was one specific CM that we were told to ask for to help us (sorry, can't remember his name--he was an older gentleman). He tried to get him working but there was nothing he could do. :sad1:

So he exchanged him for FREE! Gave us a brand new one! I was actually kind of torn since I had to give up the original one that I really loved. But my kids really wanted to have a working Pal Mickey so we took the new one.

So, if yours does stop working, don't give up! My 8 year old has always enjoyed Mickey, and he does give her something to do while in lines--playing the games. It is something extra to keep up with. We attach him to a lanyard to make it easier to carry around. And I wouldn't leave him in a stroller when going on a ride, I would be afraid he would "walk off".
