Pal Mickey

When we were there in Nov it was 59.95 but I ordered the old one from the disney warehouse for 13.95 the kids liked it for a little while but it was a pain to carry and it ended up in the room for the rest of the trip. ;)

I bought Pal Mickey 2 years ago and he was about 60 bucks.
My son still loves him and I just gave Mickey some new batteries for this trip. For me, it was worth it.

I believe he is $65 now. We just bought one in March. I loved having him in the parks. I've read a lot of different posts about him. The main thing seems to be that young kids get tired of carrying him around in the parks so mom or dad end up carrying him. My DD's are 20 & 17 and weren't interested in him to start. By the end of the trip, my DH & girls enjoyed listening to what he had to say when we were in the parks. I just clipped him on my fanny pack and carrying him didn't bother me at all. He will be going back with me on all my trips to Disney.

Hey...

If you go to www.palmickey.net - it has all kinds of information on him. Plus you'll see tons of photos from those of us who like to expand his wardrobe!

I personally love mine! LOTS of fun and it's always interesting to hear the comments when people see us with him when we've got him all decked out.

How did you get him for $13.95. Does it workd the same in the parks? I would love to order one from the Disney warehouse before we go, i would love to know how.

They don't have these anymore, but if you check Ebay, you can get the old one for $30-$40 vs. $65. My DS11 has one and he really enjoyed it last trip. We passed it on to friends who went after us. Maybe someone else who is going at a different time would want to "share" Pal Mickey with you(and the cost)

Thank you, i think i am going to check that out.

What do you do with Pal Mickey after you get home? Does he still talk or does he just sit on a shelf? 60 bucks is a lot of money for me to spend on a stuffed animal. :confused3

Thanks!

When you are home or otherwise out of the parks, he just tells silly jokes. My kids get a kick out of them, and they are ages 4, 6 and 9. I just got him off eBay, and he's the older (original) one but I didn't want to spend $65 on the new one. I think the main difference is the old one won't recognize info from Everest and Soarin'. Not that big a deal to me. We will be using him in September and I can't wait! I do expect to carry him most of the time (vs. the kids) but I don't mind. :goodvibes

The new one also has 6 games that you can play with him. Trivia type games and do as I say (press my right hand, press my left hand, press my belly, etc.). He also tells jokes, trivia & sings songs.

ETA: That is actually my Pal Mickey all dressed up in my signature below. He has a very extensive wardrobe now. He is currently on a 6 month trip traveling between friends from the DISboards.

I bought mine new on E-bay for like $25. I think it is pretty cool to hear Mickey's jok. es and helpful hints. I bought it before our trip last October, took it in April, and will be bringing him again in October. The kids love him also. Haven't bought any of the clothes for him yet though.

I was looking on Ebay and saw regular one and 50th anniversary edition. Does anyone know what the difference is in these?

We bought one last summer in the parks - 50th Anniversary edition. Our 9 year old at the time of the trip really wanted one and said it was the only thing he wanted as a souvenir. We bought it and he loved it! He carried it everywhere and had a great time with him, and he still enjoys him at home. Our Mickey came dressed in a Tux for the 50th anniversary.

My understanding is that the 50th anniversary edition plays more games. He is also supposed to be louder than the original. The 50th anniversary one comes in a tuxedo (that is how you can tell them apart).

???

What have you all done when you have two pre-school children (4.5 and 2.5)?

I had originally planned on getting them each one, but at $60 a pop, I don't think so!

Thanks for all the information on Pal Mickey. I think I might actually get one before our next trip!
