Pal Mickey

Everyone knows the cute Pal Mickey, tells you about short lines, secrets, show times, etc. I own one myself. But on Pal Mickey's right hand,, is that golden Mickey head, that when two interact, they form a laser show. I have never seen one, has anyone else?

I also have a Pal Mickey. I actually bought my Pal Mickey when we went to WDW last August for my birthday. It turns out that my parents actually bought him for me. Anyway when we purchased my Pal Mickey I received the Mickey-shaped Medallion. I have to say it was pretty neat. I don't remember having much luck getting the medallion to interact with Mickey. Maybe I was not trying hard enough. Anyway Pal Mickey is a lot of fun. I took him with us to all the parks last August. I loved the way that he giggled when he had something to tell you. We learned a lot about WDW last August. In fact I still turn him on sometimes so I can play trivia games with him. And I plan on taking Pal Mickey with us when we go back next year.

I also have a question. I hear that each time you visit WDW they will update Pal Mickey with new information. Does anyone know where I need to take my Pal Mickey in order to have him updated when we go back next year?
. I hope that Disney will keep Pal Mickey around for awhile. Pal Mickey is just a neat toy.

I believe that Pal Mickey will automatically update when you enter the park. Just make sure you have him facing forward, and they say to have extra batteries on you because chances are he will need them. I also read that if you have a problem and he doesn't update you can bring him to the camera store near the main entrance and they can upload the new info to him.

I went in January with my niece, I had bought her the original Pal Mickey online, so our first day at the park he had a lot of updating to do. The second day his batteries died and my niece told me, "He's dead. Needs new batteries." LOL Poor Mickey!! We got him new batteries that night and he was good for the rest of the trip.

but you'd have to pay postage to have him shipped.

Don't know about now but I was able to get one of the pins that lights up back in october. I got it from the world of disney store in DTD. There were not many left but they looked like they had been there for months.

The only thing I don't like about my pal mickey is when I use it outside the parks he seems to say the same things over and over again and every once in a while you will hear something differant I wish it was a little more random or at least it played everything once before it would repeat it self. I loved walking around Epcot with pal mickey he has a LOT to say about the world showcase.

What size batteries does he take? I am planning on purchasing a Pal Mickey when we go this August and would like to be prepared with extra batteries before I arrive and to pay WDW prices. I had always seen Pal Mickey but always thought of him as a child's toy but from what I have learned through the DIS board he is that and so much more so I am buying him for myself (53)!

My parents bought my Pal Mickey for my birthday last year and I am 32. I thought it would look really strange having an adult carry Pal Mickey around, but I was surprised to see that I was not the only adult carrying a Pal Mickey around WDW. It seems to me that Pal Mickey is for everyone. I am sure you will enjoy having a Pal Mickey. You will certainly learn a lot about WDW.
