Pal Mickey - what size batteries?

Hi all - we're going to the World in November (yeah!!) and are planning on buying a Pal Mickey. I'm assuming my toddler will wear down the batteries so I am wondering if anyone knows what size batteries he takes so we can take a backup set with us.

He takes AA batteries. It's either 3 or 4, I can't remember off hand. Also, you need a screwdriver to get the battery cover off. I think it's a straight slot, but ours is a few years old, so they could be using philips now. I would just bring one of those screwdrivers with a reversible tip. It's always good to have a small screwdriver with. So many other things require a screwdriver to change batteries, not just Pal Mickey. I started adding that to my packing list last year, and I definitely used it more than once.
