Pal Mickey Questions

I've decided to buy a Pal Mickey on my upcoming trip, but I have a few questions first.

1) Where are they available to purchase?

2) What is the cost w/ tax?

3) Are there any discounts available to AP holders or Disney Visa? For instance, if I get a discount anyway at World of Disney, could I get Pal Mickey there?

4) Are there different versions / outfits available? I heard there was regular-red shorts Mickey, Mickey in a tux, and Sorcerer Mickey. Are these the ones available, and / or are there more. I'd love a bunch of outfits to dress him up in.

I have another question.

5) What type of batteries does Pal Mickey use?

1) You can buy Pal Mickey at all resorts, at DTD, and at one store in each park.

2) When I got mine in 2004, he was $60 plus tax, so probably about $71 with tax.

3) I was an AP holder in 2004, so I went to World of Disney our first day specifically to get Pal Mickey, so I would get the discount!

4) I don't know much about the outfits. My Pal Mickey is just a regular Joe. ;)

5) I'm at work, so I don't have him here to check the batteries.

I may pick up a new Pal Mickey when we visit in 2007, maybe in the sorcerer costume (if that's still available)!

I just answered my own question. I went to E-bay, and it looks like they do have the sorcerer Mickey, which is going to be what I get. I'm glad I didn't get one last year now, since I would much rather have Sorcerer Mickey over the tuxedo.

Also, at one of the E-bay stores, they have several outfits; pirate, santa, pin-trading, raincoat, safari, and a park t-shirt one. I'm going to have to get the pirate and santa ones, and possibly the pin-trading one as well.

Could you check him when you get home. Pretty please, :goodvibes I'd be really appreciative.

Pal Mickey takes 3 (three) AA (double-A) alkaline (or better) batteries.

Be sure to take an extra set or two. WDW battery prices are NUTS!!

To see the outfits that are available check out www.palmickey.net, then click the Attire button at the top. There are links to a picture of a Pal in the Pirate outfit (the vest in the picture is not included with the outfit but it is absolutely adorable and I have to buy it when I go in December ) and the original 4 outfits (rain poncho, tourist, pin trading & safari). The only one that they don't show is the Santa one. There are 6 outfits total that you can purchase separately from Pal Mickey. When we got our Pal in March, we purchased a x-small HCOE tshirt from the pet store (shhhh, don't tell Mickey) that also fits nicely. I'm hoping they'll have a YOAMD version when we are there in December.

You will not be able to get the original Mickey (in just his red shorts) at WDW. I don't know if the Tux Mickey will be available there anymore either. I've heard they are selling them in the Disney outlets for $32.99 so they may have pulled them from WDW. The one that I know is available for sale now is the Sorcerer Mickey. Enjoy him. He is a lot of fun.

That's a cute idea. My Mickey may end up with more outfits then he can handle.

Great, I was planning on taking 10 - 12 rechargeable ones for my camera, (that way I can recharge some every day, and take half to the parks with me, and then the next day take the ones I charged the day before, and charge the ones I used,) so I'll have plenty of batteries with me.
