Pal Mickey question

I just found out about Pal Mickey and I'm now even more anxious to go to WDW! PM sounds AMAZING!

I understand that if I rent him for a day, it's $8 plus tax. If I rent him for longer, I get charged more. If I decide I want to keep him, the $60 deposit becomes a charge for the total amount of PM. I'm wondering if after 7 days I wanted to keep him, can I trade him in for a "new" one that I hadn't been bringing around in the heat/rain of Sept?

Or is it a better idea that I keep the one I had and get him cleaned when I get home? I hear that some don' t work right and people keep the one that works well for them...

I've never rented a Pal Mickey. I just bought him, outright. I'll bump this back to page one for you so that others can offer advice about this.

Anyone had a PM and think you should keep the one you had or can you (should you?) trade in for a cleaned one?

Or now there's the other option...get one before I go??

I got one from Ebay before we went and was glad I did. Paid just a bit less but still had it right away to have fun with.

We got a clean one and traded the other one we used on our last trip. We were actually the first to use at BCV. I have it in the attiac. I hope it works for our trip in 2 weeks...

Thanks patrickpiteo. I think I'll just use the rented one and then trade a cleaned one on my way home. that is if I can resist buying one before I go!!
