PAL MICKEY ~ diff. bet. old and new?

Thanks for the tip about updating Pal Mickey. I will have to take mine in for a checkup in Nov. I didn't know you could do that.

I second the thanks for the tip on getting a check up for PAL Mickey. I had heard it could be done but did not know where to take him. We're hoping to pick up the pirate costume this year for him when we go in Sept. Only two more weeks!!!

Where is the Pal Mickey shop located? Are there several, one in each park? Downtown Disney? I'd like to get my Pal updated also.

I'm 99% sure the camera shops in each park have the equipment to do it...I could be wrong though

Pal Mickey...does he take AA or AAA batteries? Sounds like I'll need to stock up before our trip?

He uses 3 AA batteries. My experience with Battery usage is to change them as I leave for Disney ... so 1 set a year. I think I went two years one time on the same batteries... but I am using Duracell.

Could be that since I have the "OLDER" Mickey... he does not put as much drain on my batteries.. My Digital Camera is another story.
I have had to change them as many as 3 times in one day.
Twice if I use Duracell.

I have the older Pal and the newer pal mickey with the tux. I got the new one because the first one just would not work right after a year. And new it was time to change when he was announcing while we were at Port Orleans that illuminations would begin in 10 minutes this was an hour after it would have been all over hehe.

This one is good for a laugh, ready...I ordered a brand new TUX Pal Mickey off of ebay. Took him out of box, inserted batteries, turned him on and...he said; Illuminations will start in 10 minutes. Only problem, we live in NYC...way too far from WDW. Now, just wondering if that was a glitch or something. We will get him examined upon arrival at MK...just to make sure...

I am taking a Mickey that belongs to a coworker of mine and I would love to get it updated for her.

No Charges for updates or "Check-Ups" as the last CM called it.
