My soon to be 9 year old wants to have a sleepover for her birthday. I’m not ready for taking responsibility for a bunch of extra girls overnight so we compromised with a pajama party late-over. The girls will come at 5:30 and leave at 9:30. But I thought it would be cute to get the girls matching T-shirts made and then matching pajama bottoms. However, I can’t seem to find cute pajama bottoms that are under $15 each.

Her birthday is in the middle of January so I would like to have bottoms that are either fleecy or like joggers. The bottoms need to range in size from a little girls’ 6/6x (for her younger sister and for the younger sister of her best friend) up to 14 (for my 4’10” soon to be 9 year old and one of her similarly tall friends). The other girls are probably a size 7/8 and 10/12.

Where can I find cute matching pajama bottoms (fleece or jogger style) that won’t break the bank? Or do you have other ideas that might work? They’re going to get smaller favors like sleep masks, spa headbands, and nail polish but I wanted for the pajamas to be the main thing they take home.

We bought Mickey Mouse ones at target. They have all sorts of sizes form kids to adults. They are a Christmas special. I paid $10 each, but they are on sale sometimes.

Do you sew? You could turn them out very cheaply. Otherwise, after-Christmas sales might be your best bet.
I think you're spending an awful lot for take-homes.
What sleepover activities are you considering?

I ended up just ordering pajama sets for each girl. I’ll personalize the back of each shirt with heat transfer vinyl. We are only having a total of 8 girls over (two of them are mine, two of the others are good friends of hers since they were all 4, and one is the younger sibling of one of the aforementioned friends but she’s a tag along like my younger one).

The plan is to do pizza, manicures, pedicures, a movie, cake, and done.

The favors will include the pajamas (obviously), two eyeshadow palettes, blush palettes, nail polish, Freeman’s face wash, fuzzy spa headbands, eye masks.

Previous parties for her (pre-Covid) always ended up at the $650-$800 mark when we did them at a local bounce place or trampoline park. With us doing the party on such a small scale and at home, I don’t mind spending a larger amount of money on favors. I think we are at about $20/girl for favors. Even adding in the cost of decorations, food, cake, etc., this is still going to be under $300.
