We are going on a 25th anniversary cruise and I am thinking of painting something on hats or visors in honor of that. Seeing I have never painted on material before any suggestions as to what product I should use? I was thinking of silver (for 25th!) maybe on black?

I painted many hats when my niece was undergoing chemo. Just get fabric paint at your local craft store. There are a few different brands. I don't have a favorite. If you decide to stencil on the hat, put paper towels in it first and use a stiff brush to apply the paint. If you are just going to write on the brim, the bottle of paint has the right size opening. Hopefully this makes sense.

Enjoy your trip and congratulations on your anniversary.

I think that's a great idea, to paint hats for your cruise. Like Aunties said, pick up some fabric paint wherever you get your craft supplies. They have tons of colors to choose from, even glitter paints and paints that change color with temp change. I used to paint t-shirts, etc. I even painted mickey heads on my white tennis shoes once. Have fun with it.
