Painting for tile grout

I bought some grout paint for my tile grout. Has anyone ever tried it before? I have tried all of the cleaners without satisfaction, but am nervous to try this. anyone have have positives or negatives about it?

I used Aqua Mix about 6 1/2 years ago and was pretty happy with it, still looks good. I bought a kit that included a cleaner to use before the paint. It was tedious to do and I have a small bathroom.

My laundry has tile with an off white grout color which never looked clean. Years ago QVC was selling a product that was applied to the grout with a roll on type apparatus. It had a little wheel on the end of the tube and it just rolled this white sealer on the grout line. The roller didn't work all that well bc the grout lines weren't always the same size so I got on my knees and painted it on with a childs paint brush. In spite of how tedious the work was, it has held up remarkably. Washes clean every time and looks great. I'm sorry I can't remember the product name.

I have painted grout before. The one I used had a little brush applicator that screwed onto the end of the bottle. The colored grout we used when we installed our tile flooring was a bad batch and the company sent us grout paint in the proper color. It was so easy to use and worked great! I love grout paint now and plan to paint the bathroom grout sometime!

I used a white paint on my uncleanable grout lines in the bathrooms. I'm not sure if it's from the same line as yours, but I was happy with my results. I got mine, a white grout paint, from Lowe's. It was in an applicator that looks alot like the shoe polish applicator with the sponge on the end.

We've been in our house for 2 years (bought it new) and a few months ago, I could hardly stand to look at the grout. It was discolored and gross no matter how much you cleaned it. I was having dreams of having to have it all replaced...it was that bad. A company who "restores" the grout wanted to charge me $2000!

I bought PolyBlend Grout Renew paint from Home Depot for $12 and the results were amazing! It was a little time-comsuming to apply - I first cleaned the ALL the grout by hand with a firm grout brush and then used a toothbrush to apply the paint. If you use a wet towel as you go, it's pretty easy to wipe up the extra that gets on the tile. I have probably 2000sq ft of tile, but I did a little every day and it took me about a week and I only used one bottle.

The first bottle I bought was too light (looked like white-out), but once I got the color matched right, it looked great.

Needless to say, I highly recommend it!

It definitely wasn't Grout Revive (I looked at the website)...but I think probably pretty much all grout paint yields good results. I do remember that the paint the company sent us also doubled as a sealer (maybe they all do?).

My grout brush was a tiny paintbrush, like a kids' watercolor paintbrush. It worked very well.

OMG I found a product through a contractor while I was redoing my Mom's house . Get some Zepp tile cleaner from Home Depot before you jump in and paint! The stuff is unreal! Buy a small scrubby brush to used with it...they look like giant toothbrushes. Pour the cleaner on, rub in the cleaner, and let it set for a good bit and then wipe with a dry cloth. It will still continue to clean even after you wipe it off. The difference was just unreal!

When we first moved in our house in '96, built in the early 60's, it had all original bathrooms. The grout was nasty but the tiles were all in good condition. Dh bought a grout comb at Home Depot, scraped out the old grout, and put new grout in. It really isn't very hard if any of your dhs are handy. It's a bit time-consuming to pick out the old stuff but worth it when it's done. It lasted several years until we could afford to remodel the bathrooms. He does a lot of handy-man type jobs for our neighbors and no way would he charge $2K!!

I've always wondered about how expensive it was to get Grout Medics to do it, $2000???? WOW! I got something at Lowe's and it did not work, it had a spongy thing on the end and it last thru one tile!!! The previous owners painted the grout dark gray in our bathroom and half of it is worn off or it was never done!

I painted my off-white grout on my kitchen floors with regular outdoor washable paint. I scrubbed the grout and then painted 2 coats with an artists brush letting it fully dry between coats. Now I just gently scrub the grout (mop water collects and turns dingy) every couple of months and it looks good as new and I painted years ago.
