Hi, I posted in the PtN BB thread but it's buried in there so I thought I would put my question here if that's ok.

Hi, I have finally worked out that the package is $62 for 10yr + . I have been trawling everywhere looking - I don't know why they can't make it easier to find on the website, what's the big secret : )
Can someone tell me (I'm from o/seas), is there tax on top of that. And I assume we then have to tip? Is that going to be somewhere in the range of $12 each?
Does the package come with drinks - mint julieps or the like? We did the Fantastic pkg at BB last year & I'm pretty sure it included the drinks?

We wanted to go to BB again anyway but I was originally thinking just for a drink / snack or dessert. We are 2A, 2C - over 10yrs, so it is a little pricey for us particularly with our AUD only at ~ .70c but I'm thinking now maybe we'll just say bugger it and go ahead and do dinner.

I'm looking at a later dinner - 7.30pm - and then we would hopefully get the later PtN? I haven't read many reports (or any perhaps?) of people getting the late PtN with their dinner and how that viewing worked out. Originally we were just going to catch the less crowded 2nd PtN somewhere but if we're going to eat at BB anyway then it seems like a good deal with the surf & turf running at ~$48 anyway? The late PtN appeals as we will be near the exit and as the 2nd parade starts up near there we can then make a quick exit?

Any thoughts would be gratefully received. Thanks

Thanks!

I don't think you need to do a package if you're aiming for the second parade. We've viewed the second PTN from Town Square and made a relatively quick exit several times. Worked out just fine. Didn't have to wait for hours for a good viewing spot (usually we get a spot with about 15-20 minutes to spare). As long as you don't have to be seated on a bench or curbside, you should be fine getting spots in the second or third rows. As for dinner at BB, don't forget that you can share meals. This really helps keep the final tab down. You can split entrees for free (server will give you an extra plate and you divide the food yourself) or share ($12 fee, each person gets a starter and the kitchen plates your food). We usually share and find the starter and shared portions to be ample for two adults. (Plus, this eliminates the need to carry around a box of leftovers.)

Thank you - that is VERY helpful. I had forgotten about the 'splitting' of meals - I've read about it but not something I'm familiar with or have done before.
That is a great solution especially as my youngest is not able to order a full meal anyway (due to weight issues/food intake restrictions).
And the viewing for the 2nd parade sounds fine, don't need curb-side. The parade is not a must-do for us but we will watch it if it fits in with our plans. The kids and I saw it from a little distance last year, we were situated right in front of the castle for the fwks so we didn't have a 'front row' seat.
My youngest & I saw the one at D/L HK in January - I know it's not exactly the same but they are somewhat similar. My husband (who hasn't seen either of these, only the one at WDW) & 12yr old are both a bit 'whatever' in regards to seeing fwks/PtN!
So I think I'll go ahead and do that. I'll cancel my BB PtN pkg and just change it to dinner and do the meal shares.

If someone knows could you tell me - is there tax added to the bill or are the prices on the menu what you pay, and 2. I definitely add a tip don't I which is going to be 20% - right?
Many thanks : )

Yes, tax (8% for OC, taxes in LA are higher) will be added to your bill. Tip is 15%-20% (we usually go with 20% at DLR because the service is so good) of the subtotal, not the total bill. Google has a tip calculator that is very handy.
