I just made a reservation for the PTN-Aladdin-on-the-go dinner package for 4:15 pm on Friday, 12/2. I assume that's for the 6:30 pm parade? Can anyone offer any insight on what the meal choices are? Is the food any good? Do you know where the viewing area will be? Do we still need to get there way in advance of the parade? My husband and I aren't normally parade people but I've heard so many glowing reviews of PTN I thought we should give it a chance; but I really don't want to stand around for an hour ahead of time. Thanks for any help you can offer!

I believe 4 o'clock on is for the second parade. Check the title of your confirmation. It should say.

I booked a 4:45 pm on Thanksgiving weekend and it is for the 6:30 showing. I think 5 pm switches to the second showing. However the last time I had a 2:30 pm reservation they let me choose which show I wanted when I got there (though the reservation said 1st showing). It says right on your reservation if you check now, the title will say something like "Aladdins Oasis blah blah blah 1st show". I'm guessing you have the first show though.

Viewing area is across from Small World.

We showed up at the recommended time on the ticket right as they started letting people in and it was fine, but I don't recall how far ahead it was of the parade. I know we were waiting awhile. If you're not picky about your view, you could probably go later.

The food is fine. I think there were three options to choose from - I got whatever the sandwich was.

We did this package at the beginning of September I can't answer the time question but as for the food, it was decent. And there was a lot of it, we were full. I think all the adults in our party got lasagne and salad and all the kids got the same thing (but I can't think what that was!)

Viewing is directly across from It's a Small World and it's a fabulous view!

They told us they would let people in at 6 for the 6:30 parade, but let us in a little earlier. I would be there a bit in advance if you have a certain spot in mind. But the area is fairly large, so if you aren't really picky, you can come closer to parade time.

We enjoyed our food, and we loved ducking into the Aladdin's Oasis area to eat it in peace and quiet while the park was packed. It really was an oasis that day.

can you duck in there without the packaged meal?

another question....(I have so many lol) what is that area near IASW like without the package ? I read on tripadvisor so many bad reviews of the food, and the section itself being just a roped off area where you're crowded in anyway, and you might as well be somewhere else nearby.... how valid is this? I'd do it if the section reserved was actually worth the extra.... but isn't that area back there an ok place to watch the parade anyway?

You probably could but I don't think you are supposed to.

Edit: There is only one entrance and you would have to walk by the cashier at the front with some sort of excuse if they notice you. There are also a couple servers inside that bring you the food (they give you a number card attached to a stand while you wait). It's a mostly enclosed area otherwise with walls but an open roof. It feels like a courtyard.

There is space there outside of the reserved area across the "street" though it was pretty packed by the time I got there to line up. However my experience may not be typical because it was probably one of the most crowded PTN dates (since 9/5 was at the time thought to be the last day of the parade). I think the point of the reserved package for most people is that you can show up later and still get a reasonable view. If you're willing to stake out a spot early, then you don't really need a package. Also I believe that it is generally less crowded there than Main Street.

Certainly the food is nothing to write home about. Consider the Blue Bayou package if you want better food.
