Does anyone know if they still hide paint brushes on TSI? I thought I read somewhere they stopped. Is this just a rumor? Did anything replace it?

Thanks!

They stopped doing this a few months back. So far nothing has replaced it.

I heard it stopped but I have I have heard that off and on for years. Not lomg ago it depended on which FL cast member you asked. Some knew nothing about it, some did not seem to care. A few years ago an annoyed raft driver told me that they had all been found and turned in already that day (maybe he was tired of being asked). He had no comment when I showed him that I had found three and had not yet claimed my prize. I was informed however that it was one per family. So then I had the pleasure of hiding two and watching other familiesfind them. At this point I am not sure who or what to believe.

What is the purpose of finding the paint brushes if you don't mind my asking? I hadn't heard of this until I saw this thread and I've been to WDW several times.

brushes were hidden around the island. People could turn them in to CMs and get something like fastpasses for a few people - usually BTMRR or Splash.

One time we got fast passes to the mountain of our choice, another time we were given FP to all three mountains. Not sure what made the difference. CM are different. Some embrace and spread the magic, some just have a summer job.

They stopped when BTMR went down for rehab and didn't start back up again when it reopened.

One theory is that it may have something to do with it messing up next gen FP.

The paintbrush search also caused a mad rush to be first onto Tom Sawyer's Island in the morning.

I think it should be reinstated but with a way of hiding the brushes at random times throughout the day, perhaps by a plainclothed CM.
