Painful interaction with reservation CM

So d/t prom for my DS, I had to move my whole entire vacation by 1 day. This involved changing a ton of reservations but luckily everything was available. When I called Disney, I swear I must have gotten the girl on her first day. It took 45 minutes and a lot of it I was on hold. Ended up having to cancel my entire reservation and rebooking 😢. I could have done the same thing online in 10minutes but didn’t trust myself not to screw it up. Also she spent a ton of time trying to convince me to do a package and was trying to add tho he I knew was not part of a package??? Like 9holes of golf at Oak Trails?? She ended up saying she was wrong but WOW!! It looks ok online but I was so disappointed. Out of all my interactions of course I wasn’t offered the survey. My son better love me!!!

You can always drop Disney a note if you took note of the CM’s name.

Years ago I had a 3rd party booking and I called Disney to make a room request. Instead of telling me I had to do it via the 3rd party the CM was insistent it was impossible to make requests as they couldn’t touch it but the CM could cancel it and rebook me and I should definitely do that and book direct with them because booking direct was just so much better. (I was later told by people here on DIS they get commissioned so the CM was in actuality attempting to steal the 3rd party’s commission.) I didn’t fall for it, whole thing felt off, and I hung up and contacted Orbitz or whoever it was instead who did the request with no issue of course. Haven’t trusted a Disney reservation agent since.

Unfortunately I did not. I had my own and paper ready to take it down when I called, I just couldn’t understand what she said. I was floored by the high pressure “package” pitch and inability to handle my request without putting me on hold several times

I have also dueled verbally with a CM on the phone who wanted to book at package versus room only.

- One night deposit? No.

- 5/8 day cancellation? No.

- Do I want tickets? No.

- Can I speak to your supervisor? Long hold.

<dial tone> Adios (I hung up).

We don't have to take this bad behavior from a Cast Member.

I called back the next day and spoke with a very nice CM who explained that there was just a new group just out of training and apologized. Not saying she was new, but regardless she was awful. This CM also explained that they get extra “points” AKA money for talking people into the packages and that they get nothing for a room only. She basically told me I should book a room only online unless I was giving Disney money (she was very happy I paid for my site in full) She was nice but I guess I’m used to Disney CMs being completely magical. I used to call and ask about availability just for them to tell me to “Have a magical day” sad I know, but true

I guess it’s more “Happy Gilmore to Bob Barker on the ground” if you not be spending the 💰rather than a magical day….

I called yesterday to put in my site request. Same number I've always called which got a me a Fort CM now goes to a generic reservations line. English was not her first language. It was a difficult conversation.
