Here I am whining again..... heel pain is still there, had a day of no pain and it was right back again. Don;t really know what the cause of my heel pain is I just know it hurts all around the heel, kinda feels like I am stepping on a pea sometimes other times just really hurts all over:confused3. I kept putting off going to the DR as I did not want to risk getting sick and now it is too late.

I have read that you can't take advil prior to or during a race, but is there anything I can take for imflamation?

I am planning on taking tylonel as i have been advised that is ok, but looking for other options.

I have never taken advil so I don't know if it would even work for me. I have a underactive thyroid so need to also be careful on what I take.

Starting to freak just a little;) Not completing goofy is not a option so I am getting desparate.

Any insight would be greatly apprecaited.

Kimmer, I hate to ask, but did you think of going to a podiatrist? They could give you some good ideas of what is causing the pain, or why you have the pain and some things you may be able to do to help it. They may be able to give you something to help in form of pills or even a shot to help with inflammation, if that is what is going on. (of course working with your current health issues)
I would hate for there to be something going on with your foot/heel and it just gets much worse, to the point where just walking becomes a chore.

thanks Tracey, no I haven't gone and I should have it is covered under Mike's health plan I just kept hoping it would go away. It hasn't gotten any worse but I feel like I have not changed my gait to lean over more on my foot which will cause a whole new set of problems.

I think and it is totally my fault that I have left it too long for this year....I will make sure I get it looked at after marathon weekend. Just gonig to be doing alot of stretches, and icing over the next few weeks.

I haven't trainned at all in 2 weeks hoping that the rest would do it good and it hasn't so back at it tonight, no major milage just enough that I don't lose all that I had already worked on.

Thanks Amigo!!!

When things get rough in your marathon look to your right and find your royal escort panda. You will not be left to flounder, If you are in the back you will not be alone.

Thanks Dave you are the best:hug::hug::hug: I am hoping I am not in the last corral so that I have just a bit of a buffer. Failure is not a option, I failed myself last year and I was injury free, I will not let it defeat me twice. Last year I didn't even believe in myself to at least try this year.....look out;)

just a thought about the podiatrist....I had significant pain on the top of my foot last week. I got in in one day and it was extremely helpful as he was able to tell me what to do to alleviate the issue AND finish the race. What would it hurt to give him or her a call? :confused3

Anne

Kim - seriously think about going to see podiatrist BEFORE marathon weekend. They may be able to give you something to help. And you know Stacey and I will keep you moving.
