Paige's MAW trip to GKTW!!!~~ 9/18/2011-9/24/2011~~PTR

Hello Everyone!!! My name is Tera (31), wife to Paul(38) and mom to 3 DDs, Taylor, Paige(MAW child), Allyson, and one DS, Jack!

Last night my daughter, Paige, was granted her wish to Disney World!!! We are SUPER excited and feel very blessed to get to go. At 2 years old, Paige was diagnosed with a very large and rare brain tumor. After tons of surgery, chemo and radiation, I am proud to say that she is clear of cancer.

So, a few months ago, I recieved a phone call that Paige was going to recieve her wish. There was a church youth group that had been raising money for a year to donate to MAW. Well, last night, those 200(!!!!!) youth group members threw Paige the party of a lifetime. First we took a ride in a Cinderella horse drawn carriage...then they had a red carpet walk (which made me cry!!). It was amazing!

So now...here is the hard part...the planning! I haven't been to Disney World since 2002. My mom was a cast member at Disneyland until 2 months ago, so I'm very familiar with the parks, but I've never taken all of the children to a park by myself. We usually have a few adults with us. I really want to take the kids to the MNSSHP because we will NOT be able to ever afford this trip and I want my kids to have the best time ever!! Any and all tips are welcome!!

Howdy neighbor!

Is your MAW chapter going to give you all MNSSHP tickets? You might want to ask that ...some will do a special event some chapters don't. Ask them about the budget. Most will have an idea of what it will be. It doesn't hurt to ask nicely and politely about what to expect so that you can plan accordingly. But most of all don't worry...everyone will have a good time!

PS...looks like Long Hollow...big church and huge youth group...am I right? Been there once for a drum competition and was really surprised at how big (and nice) the place was...

Actually, it's Church of Christ in Hendersonville....BUT SO odd that you mentioned Long Hollow, because that's our church! So are you a drummer??

BTW...I asked the MAW people about the tickets to MNSSHP and they said that there is a little extra in the expense check to do something special, so I'm assuming they mean either we do the character meal or the party. I am SO for the party.

My husband is a drummer, too. He works at Sam Ash Music in Madison. What a small world.

So I assume he knows Chris Nelson? He is my son's drum instructor! Small world! I kept thinking that he looked familiar in the pics!
