Paid through AAA

Well, I paid for my trip today through AAA. It was hard letting that kind of money go!

Anyway, what happens if a really good deal comes through? Would it be possible to change the reservation?

Hi. I paid the balance of my package a couple of weeks ago. Now with the rumors of codes coming out, I started worrying. I'd love a better deal, and I'm willing to give up the dining package if I could get a good rate for AKL or WL. I'm reading the AAA brochure and it says,

"For a cancellation made 44 to 6 days prior to arrival, there is a $100 cancellation fee per package, plus any cancellation fees assesd by hotels." So as long as I'm within the 44 day mark, we should be o.k. as long as it's before 44 days! Come on codes! I'm running out of time!

Like Nik's Mom said, as long as you're more than 44 days out from your arrival date, you will be fine. They will simply cancel your original package and re-book you into a new package. Then they'll take the money you have down on the first package and apply it to the second. Any extra money will either be credited to your room or refunded to you.

You can make any changes to your reservation prior to final payment. You don't have to necessarily rebook. Maybe just apply a new discount code to your reservation.

O.k, I'm secretly hoping for a good enough rate to convince DH to switch ressies to AKL or WL. 30-40% off rack rate would be nice. This will be our last trip in several years. I would love to stay in AKL or WL, but 10% off rack rate with AAA isn't good enough. Right now we have 15% off a moderate resort rate (POFQ) with AAA package. I need more than that to upgrade to a deluxe.
Of course, this is all just hope. If worse comes to worse, we'll keep the ressies that we have.
