My SIL booked a trip with a travel agent who does nothing but book the hotel and park tickets (agent’s words). SIL really wants basically full service planning and is considering hiring an outside-of-Disney VIP tour for a few days just so they aren’t “wondering aimlessly.”

Does anyone know of a service who is willing to make an itenerarty, making dining/special event reservations, etc? I know many agents will help with this, but not hers.

I probably could do what she needs, but I’m not sure our relationship can withstand that. So I’d love to be able to point her to a service!

Maybe she should try a different travel agent first? I mean anyone can book the hotel and park tickets online, what service is this travel agent providing exactly?

I was under the impression that it wasn’t easy to switch things once an agent held your reservation. If it’s not, what would she need to do to change agents?

I suggest she call another agent and ask the agent if the reservation can be switched over to them and - of course most importantly - if that agent can offer other planning services such as finding a local tour guide service.

It sounds like she really needs someone on the ground there with her at the park that day who can make decisions on the fly. If the parks are more/less crowded than anticipated or rides go down, etc. I think the only way to have that sort of help is to hire someone to go with her which will cost some $$$$.

If she’s far enough out that there’s still availability she should cancel and book with a new agent. A good travel agent should do most of what she’s looking for free of charge. Just booking the room for her is ridiculous, she can do that herself.

Yes, I think this is the “leader in the clubhouse” plan. Just wished she had asked a few more questions of the travel agent- she would have been saving buckets of money.
