I see the Padres are in town on the Sunday we arrive in San Diego. Our plane lands at 10:00 and the game is at 1:00.

Are tickets usually available at game time?

How and where is the best to park. We have never been to San Diego and have no idea where anything is.

:goodvibes Yes, you can buy tickets on game day. There is plenty of parking all around the Stadium, and Downtown. It is very expensive $20 or so. Just give yourself lots of time. Grab a drink in the Gaslamp District (downtown) The Field is a great Irish Pub that we have here. Check out Bondi for lunch. I love the way that they have it decorated. We have so much here. It is really easy to find something great. Have a great time:3dglasses

Thanks for the info. We are trying to decide if we should drive down to the stadium or park and take the trolley.

I would take the trolley to avoid crowded and expensive parking lots. There are tons of yummy places to eat all over downtown.

Petco wasn't even sold out on Opening Day this year, and seeing as how the Padres are blowing it big time, you will have no problem getting seats. It's a wonderful park, though, so have fun!

Thanks for the information. I was thinking about parking at the Old Town area. Our hotel is on Hotel Circle and we won't be able to check in that early and that looked like the closest trolley stop. Would that be a good place?

Are you meaning parking at the Old Town station and taking the trolley to the Convention station? The Convention Station is the last stop on the trolley line, and is right next to Petco. You can pay to park in Downtown. The lots get cheaper the farther from the park you go. There is a $10 all day everyday lot not far from the park (that's where we always park). If your hotel is in the circle, it's kind of backtracking to drive to old town and park, then take the trolley to the game. Just pay to park 5or 6 blocks away from the Park and walk.

have fun!

Since we have no clue about driving in San Diego we thought that might be easier to park in Old Town. Probably won't decide what we are doing until we get there and see how everything is.

I would do the trolley thing for sure!

We were at the game 2 weeks ago my poor Padres stink this year and there were not a ton of people there.

We took the trolley down and it was great! I hate driving and parking in down town! And it does help the environment a bit to take public transportation and I try to do that as often as possible!
