I'm trying to get info on the new Paddock Pool. What buildings are next to the area? What kind of food services are available? Has anyone stayed in this area, and what are your comments [pros and cons] ? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We leave next week for SSR. Can't wait !!!!!!!! :cool1: :rotfl2: :yay:

We stayed in the Paddock Area a couple of weeks ago, when it was very hot. We only went to the Paddock Pool twice - all the rest of the days we went to the pool at the Springs.

The pros are of course very close if you are staying at the Paddock.
There are a lot of activities through the day: fun pool party and games, etc.
The slide is very fun.
There is a food and a table area.
The kiddie splash area looks fun, but to be honest my kids (7,5,3) didn't really play much there - in fact not many kids were using it.

Cons:
The hot tub was actually the same temp as the regular pool - not sure why - this must be a fluke?
Very little shade - during the water balloon toss everyone was burning their feet even though the lgs were throwing water on the deck.
It is very shallow - mostly just gets to maybe 3.5 feet. There is one tiny area that may be 4 feet deep.
It is pretty small, especially for the amt of people using it at the time we were there.
Did I say very little shade?

I'm sure in the fall or winter it will be nice, but we found it PACKED with people and no shade. I should also say Congress Park's pool was closed for maint during our stay. We preferred the nice stroll across the bridge to the Springs Pool where we could get a table in the shade. My kids like the fountain area there a lot, and the tiny water slide. It just worked better for us this trip.

what dmank stated. We just got back last night and must say that for a "themed" pool it was very small. During activity time there was literally no room to just swim. And absolutely no shade what so ever. And as of yesterday am the hot tub was still as cool as the pool, lol. There were several guests complaining about that through out the week. The pool attendant said he wasn't sure what was going on there. We were staying in the Paddocks actually between the Paddock bus stop and the Congress Park bus stop so we decided to stroll over to use that pool only to find it is closed for refurbishment. It was only DH and I and we were interested in some not quite as hopping pool time. We went over to OKW several days and used the pool on Miller Rd, never more than 5 other people there until around 3pm when we were ready to head back. Thursday we went over to BW and used their quiet pool near the Garden Cottages and were there with two other people until 3 pm. It was heavenly for us.:thumbsup2
