Packing tips, anyone?

Excuse my ignorance, but what are packing cubes? Keep in mind I live in Northern Manitoba Canada, far away from any kind of shopping!

It isn't ignorance they are like packing boxes to separate your things. They are either mesh or nylon and they usually have a zipper. I personally don't llike them.

The ones I found at the Container Store (online) are a bit bigger...they are 14x10x3 and were on sale for 9.37...we'll see how they work!

We have been using packing cubes & envelopes for years. They really help organize & reduce wrinkling. I'll never pack without them now. Bonus - it also helps with the security screening - your stuff doesn't get touched (we use clear cubes & mesh envelopes)

We are looking at the Pura Vida Costa Rican ABD - does anyone know what laundry facilities are like on that tour?

I travel about 100k miles per year and there are a few things that have helped me. One is I roll up my clothes in individual rolls - it allows you to get more things in the suitcase and surprisingly it keeps clothes smoother. I carry individual packets of Woolite for doing laundry in hotel sinks. I buy small sizes of regular products - under 3 oz. - so I can carry them on the plane. For example my favorite anti-aging cream eb5 Facial Cream comes in a 4oz size which I buy for home, and then buy their 2 oz. for the road. At 2 oz. it's small enough to pass TSA but large enough to last through 6 weeks of travel. I also don't go anywhere without hand santizer and Biore face wipes - which come in handy in all sorts of situations particularly international travel.
