Packing soda

I'm going to have a suitcase for bottled water, dry groceries & beach towels that we'll check in. I was wondering - is it possible to pack cans of soda??? Would they explode on the plane?

I've packed beer & soda in my checked bag many times and never had a problem.

Why not just take the bus to DTD and walk across the street to the Hess gas station to get the soda. That what we do. We take a few reusable bag with us, buy water and soda and take it back to the resort.

They could. Baggage handlers are not exasctly gentle with suitcases. If they did you would soak your bag and any bag that happens to be under yours.

Not to mention you have to be a little aware of weight! A pint's (of water) a pound the whole world round.

I have packed a case of beer many times just put it in a garbage bag just in case never had an issue. A few times I get the TSA sticker that bag was checked and even had a smiley face on he sticker. Also have gone to the Hess station very quick and easy. Bus to downtown I head out in the morning no crowds make a quicker turn around. Can do it under one hour.
