packing questions

Im going to disney in october,and staying at SSR and OKW. We are going for about 5 days, and I'm trying to cut back on clothes, etc.

My question for you is: Have any of you stayed at OKW or SSR and USED the washer dryer in the room? we are staying in a 2 BR so i know we have one.
I really dont want to have to do laundry on vacation, but if we put the stuff in before we go to a park, and then came back after park close, would the stuff be ok?

i already know about tips like zip loc's and stuff.... that will help tremendously!!

also, a question about cameras... im planning on bringing my digital camera and a few disposables (black and white, panaramic, etc) down. should i have them hand check it at the airport, or will the disposable and my digital be ruined if it goes through the scanner?!?

Don't know about the laundry stuff, but as for cameras, always carry on, and ask for a hand check. Never do a check in for film cameras, the x-rays will ruin the film.

The washer/dryer in the villas are great. I always bring some washing powder and a dryer sheet double bagged in zip locs. And we don't bring as much clothes as we would if we didn't have the w/d. Put it on when you leave and dry when you return. It's a breeze.

I hand carry my digital camera most of the time and have never had problems with the x-ray machines.

After last year, I will always plan to do laundry mid-week on my WDW trips. I'm a compulsive over-packer and always bring waaaaay too many clothes. Last year, I could have brought half of the clothes I packed and done just fine, because I did two loads of laundry. Used the laundry room at SOG, and it only took about 1.5 hours total. Worked just great!

If you have the luxury of having laundry facilities right in your room, more power to you! You're very lucky.
