We leave in two days and wouldnt you know DD came down with Strep Throat on Friday. THankfully, she's been on antibotics and is much better. THe question is, how do I travel with medication that needs to be refridgeorated? We're flying there and staying at All Star Sports.

Put it in a small (lunchbox size) cooler with one of those plastic "ice packs" (I assume they're airplane-friendly). I believe you can get a free fridge at your resort if you need it for medication.

As already mentioned medicines are an exception to the 3oz liquid rule and you are allowed to carry an ice pack in your carry on to keep it cold. The resort should have a small shoebox size fridge available at no charge and or a dorm size fridge to rent on a first come first serve basis.

I would consider asking your childs doctor if there is an alternative antibiotic that dosen't require refrigeration. My dd's pediatrician has switched Rx's for us on a few occasions when keeping it cold would have been an issue.

Thank YOu so much for your helpful replies! Called the hotel today and got a refridge!

Check with the pharmacist about whether the medication needs to be refrigerated or is just recommended to be refrigerated. Many antibiotics don't need refrigeration as long as they are used within 14 days of being mixed up (which is usually longer than the kids will be on the antibiotics). Many are refrigerated to make them taste better.
Knowing whether it needs to be refrigerated or is just recommended to be refrigerated for taste will help you decide how careful you have to be for travel.
