we'll be taking our 8 month old DD in april. while DH and i been many times, we've never taken her. i've seen some good tips about things to take with us (like disposable bibs/spoons/placemats), but i was wondering if anyone has a comprehensive packing list when taking young children. the other day i thought we'll need swimmie diapers...i don't want to forget anything else like that! this is a new adventure for us! thank you!!

I used to sit and go thru my entire day what I normally do, then I would figure it out for however many days I would be their. Had a case I could separate out formula for how ever many ounces I needed for each feeding etc. Throw a couple extra in just in case. Thier is a list somewhere I have seen it but not sure where it is. I know someone will post it.

I don't have an official list, but here are some things I brought.

Diapers
Wipes
Extra plastic bags for stinky diapers
Ziplocs (I kept the wipes in a ziploc for the day because with 3 kids I needed more than I could fit in a travel size package)
Baby food
Disposable spoons
Sippy cup
Snacks
Disposable placemats
Swim diapers
Tylenol
Thermometer
Orajel
Sunscreen
A few teethers/toys
Pacifiers if your child needs them (my middle child used a "binky" so I made sure to have PLENTY and I bought a pacifier attacher to clip it to his shirt so we didn't lose so many)
Disposable bibs
Bottles
Formula (we used powder, easiest in the parks)
Bottle brush and dish detergent to clean cups and bottles
Sun hat for the water (I found a great one in target)
Sun hat for the parks
Sunglasses if your little one will wear them (mine wouldn't :confused3 )
Rain cover for stroller

HTH some!

Oh, I also bought a clip (something like hikers would use to go down a steep mountain) to attach rings to the stroller so I could clip toys and sippy cups to the rings. I don't know if they still make any sippy cups with closed handles though. I couldn't find one for our last trip so I had to dig out one of my oldest child's cups. Seems they are making them with open handles now, so they can't be attached like that.

I also brought a plastic tub to wash the bottles in and a cheap pack of dishcloths to lay them on to airdry. When the tub wasn't in use I put all the baby food, bottles...back in it to keep myself organized.

keep the ideas coming

Here is what I know I am bringing for my then to be 8mth old:
bibsters
spoons
wipes diapers
swim diapers
a lot of clothes
sunscreen
bottles formula--powdered
bottled water
disposable placemats
sun hat and shirt (for pool and H2O parks)
ziploc bags
sippy cups
