With no liquids allowed on carryons on planes now...I was planning on packing some juice boxes/milk boxes in our suitcases for the hotel room. Anyone ever have any disasters with them breaking in their suitcase? I'm thinking packing them in a ziplock bag will hopefully help? thanks!

I did do capri suns once and no problems but now that Ithink of it I guess I was lucky. I packed a suitcase of poptarts, caprisuns, cereal, chips popcorn and other snacks. They arrived in one piece..lol. I only did that once the rest of the time we stayed at villas and rented a car, so no more need of that.

I think you could have a potential disaster of moist proportions! It could be really easy to go over the 50 lb limit for baggage too. You could always ship the items to yourself at the resort or place an order w/an online service like wegoshop.com or gardengrocer.com .

I wouldn't pack them if it were me. I always pack even shampoos and such in ziplock bags (2 actually.....put them in one back, seal it, then stick it in another and seal it).....and several times I've been quite glad as they have burst/leaked. The luggage is placed in a compartment of the plane that is not pressurized (doesn't maintain the same air pressure regardless of altitude as the passenger cabin does), which means the changes in pressure can cause even completely sealed bottles/containers to develop large leaks. And that's beside the fact that they aren't particularly careful with the way they toss the luggage around in the loading/unloading process either. My parents had one suitcase ruined a couple of years ago due to someone else having a liquid packed that leaked all over the place. Not worth the risk to my own or other people's luggage in my opinion.

Have you considered using a grocery delivery service?

We used wegoshop.com 3x and had great service. They will shop the best store for your itmes (always reasonable prices so far) and for a fee deliver it to your resort. Bell services has always stored our order and kept perishables cold until we got our room.

There are a couple other services that get great reviews here - goodings and garden grocer are two I recall. Having such good results from wegoshop I haven't tied any of the others.

I have packed a suitcase full of non perishables mostly cereal, PB&J snack etc but never juice or soda for fear of leakage.

Also consider that if you did have a leak, not only could you ruin your things but also those in the cases around yours.

I take juice boxes every time we fly. I put them in doubled up ziplocs. I've never had a problem with leakage but better safe than sorry.

I've flown tons of times, and never had a leak except once, and since it was in a ziploc it was no problem.

Yeah...I also have packed juice boxes and have not had problems...I just put them in a plastic bag...I've also brought lots of snacks (cookies, fruit snacks, crackers) and packed them in plastic containers to keep from getting smashed....no problems with them either.

Anything that we aren't bringing back, such as snacks, drinks, cereal, fruit rollups, ponchos, diapers, wipes, etc. all gets shipped to the resort to arrive the day before we do. This works so well, and leaves much less baggage.

We packed juiceboxes and other snacks with us when we flew to Disney. We didn't have any leakage problems but I did double bag just to be sure.
