Hi all, hopefuly I can get some help. I leave on Saturday Morning for a week in WDW. Now I've been watching weather reports and except for the rain so far the temps look good. Now comes the problem, I've been watching the weather for a few weeks already and was pleased to see the cold starting to move out and being replaced by 70s. Well I just got an email from my aunt with pics of them wearing sweaters and coats last week and saying that with the wind chill it was only 22:confused3 and it hasn't been warm for a while??? I don't understand, weather reposts are saying nice...even past reposts are saying 70s, and it's really 30? How am i supposed to pack for this, especially when there are weight limits for our luggage on the plane?

Anyone have any insight?? TIA

Just be sure to take jackets. Even with warmer days, it can get chilly in the evenings.

that's what I also would suggest: layers.

Besides, if it is cold, a couple of layers will keep you warmer than one big thick jumper. Layers are also more versatile.

And a coat/jacket also - I'm sure you can get away with taking a lightweight coat/jacket if you are going to layer up underneath.

I hate luggage restrictions - it's so hard trying to guess what you'll need! I'll be visiting Orlando in August (from the UK) and only have a luggage restriction of 15kg!! It's going to be so hard!!

I hope you enjoy your trip :)

Welcome to DISboards. Looking forward in hearing more from you after you came back from your trip. Hope you had a great time.

Have a nice day. :)

:welcome:

Well, its better to pack what you think you might need, look at the 10 day forcast, its cheaper then buying new clothes........

If you are at the parks in the evenings, you will definitely want to take a jacket or at the least a hooded sweatshirt. If you have a tiny space in your bag, a winter hat and magic gloves might not be out of the question either.

I can remember more than a couple of times at WDW and DL where we would have paid big $$$ for a winter hat after the sun went down!! LOL!!

I usually always take a black fleece hooded sweatshirt along on trips. It can be tied around the waist, crumpled up in my backpack, etc. It's great on the plane when I'm cold and/or want to nap. In Vegas in December, it's not uncommon for me to have the hood on and my hands in the pockets walking from one casino to the next. Same principle for Disney. Warmth when out in the elements, but not to heavy when inside.

I know what you mean, we just returned from WDW couple of weeks ago and we left from northeast Ohio, temps in the zero's and a foot of snow on the ground. I basically wore a thermal Disney long sleeved shirt and a Disney hood sweatshirt, these were going to be my Florida cold weather clothes. I took so pant I own that have zip off legs, become shorts, and other than that being from the north it still got alittle cold some evenings. We used Amtrak and didn't want to be loaded with extra luggage and survive on what we had. Early morning are chilly, wore light sweatshirt but as the day wore on, it got quite hot, some days we just braved the chilly morning knowing that when the sun got up it would be warm and just wore t-shirts. Evenings were light sweatshirt weather. Florida is completely different than up north for cold, it's standable, Floridians wear stocking hats, coats and gloves when the temps hit 50, I would plan alittle and leave the bulk at home.

Back on topic, I usually wear a winter coat onto the plane leaving Cleveland and pack a light jacket. That way I can pick which one I need at the destination. I've never had the coat literally "on my back" coutned against my carry-ons, despite the fact that I stuff it in an overhead bin...

If you don't mind my asking, about how much does Amtrak cost from Ohio to FL (I'm up near Cleveland)? How long is the trip, and how convenient is the FL end to WDW?

No problem, we board in Alliance Ohio, closest depot to us, train picks us up at 3:15 am say Friday and arrives in Kissimmee Saturday at 1:30 pm, if all is on time. Big lay over in DC, switch trains, about 6 hours included in this. Our prices for the past 4 or so years, round trip for my wife and I has been $450.00. Now thats coach, reclining seats and tons of room.
