Our trip is Oct. 26-Nov. 3. Trying to motivate myself to start packing! Coming from PA where it was 45 degrees going to the bus stop this morning and my girls were complaing they needed mittens. It will be nice to be in warmer weather in Florida soon but I'm not sure if I should be packing mostly shorts/tees or capris/jeans? I will take along a few sweatshirts, figuring they may need them for waiting at the bus stop in the morning or if we are out later at night. We will probably not be in the parks from rope drop til close. Most days are ADR's are a late lunch or early dinner, so thinking we will hit rope drop, fast passes are around noon, then late lunch, then decide if we need a break back at the resort. Any tips for packing? This is our first family trip and the last time I did Disney was as a kid in January. We packed shorts expecting nice weather and it was cold when we got there so we had to go buy sweatpants and sweatshirts in the gift shops! Hoping to avoid that this time :)

Another Q: We are staying at Carribean Beach Resort. I saw that they have Halloween activities going on all day on the 31st. We have an ADR at Akershus for 3pm, then hoping to be back at the resort for the trick or treat portion. Is it worth it or are there other Halloween activities we should be looking to do that evening? We are not do Mickey's party.

Can't help with the Halloween activities, but have been a few times in early November, and the weather overall was nice, say mid 70's and up. But there is the chance of a cold front coming through and reaching all the way down to FL making swimming a challenge, or the mornings feel a little chilly. But keep telling yourself it would be even colder back home! For me a light jacket or sweatshirt sufficed when I hit a colder period, but I guess others who feel the cold more might have liked long pants too.

I've gone at this time for the last three years and am leaving to check in the same day as you.

I always pack shorts and t's. I might wear light weight capris as well. Early morning and late nights might need a light fleece. I'm warm natured and have not needed the fleece yet. My mom on the other hand does.

I do tend to travel in jeans or jean capris with a tshirt and fleece.

We traveled for the halloween party around the same time last year (also from PA, hi!). On our last evening, the temperature dropped sharply and everyone was running to the shops to grab up every last sweatshirt available. So my advice is to just be prepared, and looks like you are doing that (just don't forget the sweatshirts in the room).

We're coming in on November 8th. I'm planning to pack a mixture of shorts and capris, and tanks. I will bring along a hoodie or fleece in case I need it at some point. Right now, the temps are tracking in the upper 70s-80 ish for highs, and low-mid-60s for lows for our dates, according to the forecast as it stands. Of course, I will keep checking up until we leave to make sure no major changes are expected.

Layers. T shirts and jeans/slacks, and a sweatshirt for colder mornings and evenings. It does get chilly when the sun goes down. Shorts don't take up much room in your luggage, so take a pair or two and wear them if you'll only be in the parks during the warmer parts of the day and back to the resort later to change to slacks. If wearing a sweatshirt in the morning, can always take it off and tie around your waist when it gets warmer, then use it again later when it cools off.

I had my coat on Nov 1 of last year. It was freezing!

However, if you don't want to take a coat, definitely take warmer/layering clothes - sweatshirts, scarves, etc...

I pack a mix of jeans and capris (Me personally not a shorts girl), and shirts. I bring a sweatshirt for when its colder. My daughter I bring usually tshirts and if she needs a sweatshirt she'll have a few to choose from. (She's 4).

We're going Oct. 27-Nov 6 and staying at CBR too! :)

We went this time last year and some days were in the 80s then a cold front went through and it rained so a sweatshirt was needed in the AM and PM for a few days

I am also from PA, and I'm going down later than my normal October trips this year. I'll be there 11/12-11/20. In the past, I've had incredibly good luck with all my October trips. Warm and beautiful weather. I do the layers thing. Only a light hoodie or cardigan, was needed at minimal times in the early AM or late at night. Even if it's a very warm day, I always have a lightweight summer scarf, as I can get chilly in the AC. If it's too hot to loop it around my neck, it gets looped on my purse. It's just enough to keep the cold air of my neck and or off my arms. I always bring one pair of pants in addition to the pair I wear on the plane. This year, since I'm going later, I am also going to throw in a pair of fingerless gloves just in case, because I have extremely bad neuropathy, and if it gets cold, and my hands are cold, I will be miserable.

Since PA can be cold and snowy, I'm hoping it'll be nice weather for my trip again for me, and it will feel even more wonderful and I will appreciate it even more. Lol. I heard them talking about snow showers here on the tv yesterday. Ack.

Oh, and I forgot, you asked about things to do for Halloween. I guess Fort Wilderness is supposed to be fun for Halloween. Lots of people decorate, etc. I think they also still have the Chip and Dale campfire. You may want to find details on FW stuff.

We are from south Texas and have similar weather as Florida. I would check the forecast prior to your departure. It is not unusual to have a 80 degree evening on Halloween here. If I want to wear shorts, I'm sure it will feel really warm to you. Other years, it is in the 40s. Just depends.

We are taking a very similar trip! 10/27-11/6 at CBR, from PA! :) what time is the trick or treat at CBR? I never knew they had that! :)

I'm a little surprised about warnings of cool temps. We've been there the last 3 years between Oct 10 to Oct 25 and heat was the issue. We're there form Oct 29 to Nov 7 this year and while we will bring one pair each of long pants and shirt with a thin windbreaker, I don't expect to get much use out of them. Another Pa boy here and we've had 80s up to last week, I'd actually appreciate a chill before we leave, I enjoy leaving crappy weather behind to go to the sub-tropics.

Bill, you must be taking the heat with you. ;)

Idk, maybe a freak cold front came through last year? On Oct 27 we stook in line at 7 am for CP and our daughter, who has cold urticaria, started breaking out in hives. And if you google "mine train fire disney world" from Nov 1 of last year, you will see hoodies/coats/etc. Granted, the middle of the day was fine - only issue was in the morning and evenings...

We are at Pop from 10/24 to 10/31; weather is tracking high 70's low 80's during the day and mid to low 60's at night. Packing my Disney hoodie, 2 pr capris and a or of jeans to wear home.... Illinois is 55 high and a freese warning for 35 low tonight.

We are going 10/31 -11/10. I'm packing capris and t-shirts and a couple hoodies for myself. For my DH and DS it will be shorts and t-shirts only, as they wear those right up until the snow flies here in CT, regardless of the temperature.

I might wear light weight capris as well. Early morning and late nights might need a light fleece.

This is the week I've gone every year for the last 25years, I would say overwhelming my trip have had warm weather no sweats needed. I've had trips where we melt in the sun and trips where the pool was out and I was in a sweatshirt. I recommend packing everyone a sweatshirt and pants just in case, most likely won't be a need but those mornings and evening can be a bit chilly sometimes.

We always go down on 11/1, and I know I have pictures of us with jackets and long pants on. Pack for warm weather and chilly (but not PA definition of cold) weather. I'm from PA too. Each person should have a jacket and pants just in case.

We haven't been able to swim the past two years because it's been too cold for my kids. They don't like to be cold and wet.
