There are several reasons, but I need to pack 2 suitcases for my trip, one reason is I am extending it with 3 days in London on the way back. I might be able to get by with one but would have no room for souveniers, so should I bring the two and hope for the best, bring the two and see if I an leave one at the balmoral until we go back there at the end of the trip or try and squeeze everything in one suitcase. Just one other point of reference, I pack only what i know I need and on my last 5 trips I did not overpack and I wore everything I packed. Suggestions?

We also extended our trip by 3 days in Edinburgh. My suggestion ... Travel Cubes!

You would not think that these would save you as much space as they do. I am an awful over packer and still managed to get by on 1 checked, 1 carry on and 1 personal plus have room for souvenirs. It would not have been possible without the travel cubes though. I was able to fit way more stuff in the suitcase with the cubes keeping everything tightly packed once zipped up. The added bonus was that everything can be neatly organized by cube so you know where everything is and don't have to dismantle the entire suitcase to find one item.

ABD will also give you a duffel bag which is quite helpful once the souvenirs begin to accumulate.

I am also a huge fan of packing cubes. They are the sole reason I got all my stuff (and I DO overpack) into one suitcase for our Scotland ABD. We also extended our trip by 3 pre-nights in Edinburgh. As Calypso said, we used the ABD duffel for souvenirs.
