We are not telling the kids about our April trip until we wake them up to head to the airport but the closer I get to packing, the more nervous I get. The clothes are pretty easy as they both just got new wardrobes and cleaned out old stuff. I feel like I'm going to overpack shoes and underpack 'extras' (activities, cameras, swim goggles, etc). Please tell me that it's no big deal and they will adjust to whatever they have/don't have.

I did the same for one trip. They won't miss what they don't think of. If you do forget something, don't mention it to them, they are oblivious (at least mine were!)Have a fun trip!

Sit down and do a mental walk thru of your days. Write down everything you see yourself and kids using. Now pack everything on the list. Done!
But in general - clothes, toiletries, bathing suit, pool stuff (googles, toys, etc.) and poncho.
Activites for plane - we packed so much our first flight with the kids and they were just happy watching a movie and playing uno. So now we take coloring book, dvd player, uno cards. Our flight is only 2.5 hrs so they make do. Oh yah matchbox cars for our son that occupies for hours. LOL

Kids can be picky about clothese (especially a 13 year old.) I would make sure all the laundry is clean and wake them up extra early so the older kids can gather anything they may want to wear or bring as an activity on the plane.

Don't forget to charge things (and chargers) for the things they may want on the plane. (ipods, cameras, cell phones, handheld games, etc.)

I'll be fairly impressed if your 13 year old 1) lets you pick out and pack their clothes and 2) doesn't notice stuff missing :rotfl:

You might want to spring the surprise on them the night before and let them do their own packing. Even at 6 my DD is very picky about what she wears on vacation.

It is called the packing pro... seriously it is awesome.
It helps you create customized packing lists... everything from clothing, cash, cameras, accessories, toiletries, etc
And you can email it to yourself from your iphone and print it out.
Very useful app in my humble opinion.:goodvibes
