I am so excited and now it's catching on:cool1: :hourglass the count down is getting so close:goodvibes
I live in Idaho so as far as dressing or packing for the weather goes I need help!

What is the weather like at DL the end of April?
With a 15 boy an 11 yr. old girl I know I ned to do a bit of packing but are sweat shirts and pants needed then? (any other tips or must haves for a CAR TRIP would be great)
We will be also going up to the oregon coast and never been there in April or early May so any advice is greatly appreciated.
Oh gosh :sad2: I might have to go get a few new items. I dont even think I have enough cloathes for a 2 week trip! OH WELL!!!

The DH is SO excited and he usually is like.. oh thats nice dear.
How do you SCREAM on a computer for excitement!!!!!

We're planning our trip for the end of April, too! I'm getting so excited.

We live near Portland, Oregon. I don't know how far up the coast you are going, but up by us (Newport, Lincoln City, Tillamook) it's pretty windy and and a little bit chilly. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful and fun, but if you come this far North, you'll want to bring sweaters and jackets. Also, we get lots of rain in the Spring, so be prepared for that also. A couple of years ago we went crabbing in April during a storm (60 mph wind gusts, etc). The rain was almost horizontal! Our three year old loved it, though. We kept asking her if she wanted to sit in the car or be on the dock, and she always chose the dock. It was a blast!

Anyway, that's as South as I've been since I was a kid, so I can't tell you anything else below Newport. Just know that the lower you go, the warmer it gets, obviously.

I'll be in San Diego from April 14-22 then DL from 22-25. I am also wondering what to pack...will it be cold at night??? I was in San Diego early May a few years back and it was very warm during the day but I forget what the nights were like.

We'll be there around the same time, my trip is the 26th-30th of April. Here is what I am packing for my kids: (barring me checking for weird unseason weather that week!) 4 day trip!

1 pair of shorts and short sleeve shirt for each day.
1 pair of jeans
1 sweatshirt/hooded sweater
bathing suit
socks and underwear

That's it!! And if you forget anything or need weather suitable clothing, they have it there and it makes a great souvenir.
Now with you doing the coast, I would definitely pack more jeans. But my kids only ever wear short sleeves and then a sweatshirt if needed at that time of year.

Nights can get chilly, but we are able to do with just adding a sweatshirt onto whatever we wore for the day!

We will be going all the way to Seaside and the Portland zoo.... I cant wait. (Still need to figure out how to screem on the computer for excitement:goodvibes )

Thanks for the simple list it helps.

We love the Portland zoo! I take my kids once a month for 2 Dollar Tuesday. During December they have Zoo Lights, where they put lights everywhere and lighted animals (some even move!). It was then that it really hit me: We just HAVE to go to Disneyland!

At the zoo, be sure to visit the sea lions. Go into the cave and watch them swim. There's one that likes to do laps in front of the big glass wall. He's so cool! And when you go into see the Lorakeets, buy the cup of nectar (it only a buck) so you can feed them. They'll land on you to drink the nectar. It's so mcuh fun. Last time I had my 10 month old in a front baby carrier, and they were even landing on his head.

While you're going up the Coast, visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory. They have the best ice cream in the world! Also, the beach there (I can't think of the name right now) has a hole in the side of the cliff that you can walk through to get to the other side of the beach. Pretty cool.

I cant wait to go! Yes the cheese factory is on the to do list! My kids have never been to a zoo so we are excited!!! if you can remember the beech let me know please. I'll pm you and give you my email address. thanks so much.... oh only 74 days till we leave now. We are leaving right after DH gets off work on thursday. (we figured we wouldn't sleep anyway)

I've been wondering the same thing about packing.......I'll be there from the 16th to the 23rd, and I have no clue what to pack. I know it'll be warmer in Southern CA. then here in NJ, but what exactly does that mean? Will I need both warm & cool temp clothes? :headache:

I don't know how much humidity you are used to in Idaho...but if you aren't used to it (like where I live), it's a bone-chilling kind of cool in the evenings. Along with a sweatshirt, I bring a light jacket (like a windbreaker) to cut the chill of the wind. But that's just me...:goodvibes
