Saw a couple of references to this on some threads. Just wanted reviews from those of you who use packing cubes....what is most helpful about them? Or not? What size(s) do you use and for what? Thanks!:)

I'm also interested in hearing what is good about them. I picked up 2 a Target the other day. I got the large ones, but they really don't look very big, I think that I'll need to roll my outfits into the cubes-I am really hoping to bring just my carry on and sending a box of other 'needed' items for an organized and enjoyable vacation.

I have three sizes of the cubes. One is shirt size and comes with a board to keep the shirts wrinkle free and then two smaller sized ones.

Since we pack our large bag for four (my DH, DD, DS), I use the smaller ones for underwear and socks, so it's easy to pull out of the bag when we need them. I use one for my stuff, one for the kids.

I tend not to like to unpack personal items and put them in drawers, etc. I like to keep them in the suitcase so with the cubes it's easy to get one I need quickly.
I hang up shirts and dresses to get the wrinkles out but keep shorts and most other stuff in the suitcase.

I used the larger cube more before I started packing with the rolling method, which is a great way to pack if you want to condense space and keep clothes relatively wrinkle free. I believe I first came across the method in "The Packing Book" and I swear by it. It's a good system if you are going to bring big things like a dress or long skirt.

I use one for my undergarmets and leave them in the cube just put the whole cube in a drawer. If TSA decides to open my bag, no touching my panties.:lmao::rotfl2: And yes they have searched by bags before.:surfweb:

i bought the five pack from heys luggage before we left. it was 5 different sizes and i was a little worried when they arrived. i looked at them and thoguht gees, they wont hold much. well boy was i wrong! they actually held a large amount in them and i was quite happy.

I use a combination of packing cubes and packing folders to organize my bag. I have the Eagle Creek packing folders in 15", 18" and 20", but mainly use the 18". The packing cubes I have in medium, large, and slim. I got my original ones at Ebags, but then later found some much cheaper at TJ Maxx of all places. I put about 10 pairs of panties, plus a nightgown in one of the slim cubes and usually have some room left over as those cubes seem to stretch alot. I then use another for a 10 days worth of bras. In a medium cube I put a swim suit, coverup, deodorant, Body Glide, bath salts, and basically anything small that I don't want lose in my bag. I really like the packing folders better than the cubes. A 18" packing folder fits perfectly on one side of my Heys carry on and holds about a week's worth of shorts and t shirts. Use the packing guide that comes with each folder and those things will hold tons. You can really squish stuff down and then they are secured with four flaps with heavy velcro.

May 2009 I spent 8 nights/9 days at WDW, did carry on only, did not have to wash clothes, carried a skirt and two sundresses, 9 pairs of shorts, 10 t shirts/tanks, underclothes, two pairs of flip flops, sandals, swimsuit, coverup, cell phone, camera, chargers for both, and all my toiletries. I had a 15" packing folder in my personal item, a 18" packing folder, two slim cubes, and one medium packing folder in my carry on. My carry on easily fit wheels first in the overhead bin and the personal item was under my seat. No way would all of that have fit in my bags without squishing into those packing folders and packing cubes. I am always shocked at how much stuff you can squeeze into them. I used to use the vacum bags, zip lock bags, and also used to roll clothes. Since using the packing folders and cubes, I can't imagine packing without them. They keep your bags very organized, make repacking a breeze, and your bag will hold ALOT more. I also like that when I get there I can get the cubes that have my underclothes in them and just drop them into the drawers and my clothes don't have to touch drawers themselves.

I think that I am going to order 2 packing folders, I have never seen them before. I already bought 2 large cubes at Target. I am really going to try to pack everything in my carry on, for a 9 day trip. Thanks!

I just ordered some packing cubes and 1 folder. I am going to return the 2 cubes I bought at Target because they were more expensive there then on line. All my purchases should be here by the 22nd and we leave on the first. I am so excited to pack for my adult only trip!

I have the Eagle Creek packing folders / cubes per a poster's recommendation on this site, and really, really like them. I had only purchased a two sided cube and a packing folder, but I'll be getting more of them now that I've tried them out and found out how well they work.

They just pack so much, protected, into such a small space, and they keep your clothes from getting wrinkled or jostled around.

We have some Eagle Creek packing folders and I love those. Now I'm thinking I need some packing cubes!

Just ordered the E-Bags packing cubes off of their site. Got free shipping and 20$% off with a code. So I will let everyone know what I think after they arrive and I try them!
