Packing baby for warm days/cool nights

Okay, I've read all the threads about packing and still have questions. It's going to be high 70's daytime and mid 50's nighttime. We are going to be back at the hotel for the afternoon but I think that at 3:00 when we head back to the parks it will still be too warm to put our 9 mo. old into pants and a sweater.

So, do I pack shorts and t-shirt (or dress) for daytime and then bring a warmer nighttime outfit (pants and sweater?) with me when we go back into the parks and change her at night in the park?

Also, whenever we go out at home I bring a spare outfit in case DD pees etc. on the one she's wearing. SO the way I'm seeing it I'm going to have to carry a ton of stuff with me in the parks!

Help!:smooth:

We went to WDW in early February with our two young sons, the younger being only 11 months, and I had the same dilemma. As it turned out, our days were in the high 70s and then the nights dropped into the low 50s. But, the temperatures stayed in the 60's well into the evening. We were usually back to our room by 9:30-10:00 (before it got too cold).

We dressed the kids in shorts & t-shirts when we left in the morning, and they wore zip-up sweatshirts in the early morning before it warmed up (we just threw them in the stroller basket when it got warm). In the evening, after naps, they went back to the parks in the same clothes, and I packed the sweatshirts & a pair of pants for each just in case. I didn't pack more than one to account for accidents (you know best if you need them), but if you do, a little extra pair of pants doesn't take up much room in a backpack.

We only needed the pants one night, the other evenings were warm enough that the sweatshirts were sufficient (and this was in early February).

Have fun introducing your daughter to the magic!

We take along a small fleece blanket, which is very easy to throw over a baby in a stroller/sling/front carrier if it gets too chilly in the evening. Also handy for naps during the day, and covering baby's ear on noisy rides (the other ear being pressed against your body. :D )

It has been a long time for me, but I do remember we brought one of those oversized lighter weight blankets from Gymboree and it was great. We used it to shade the baby when he fell asleep in the stroller, to sit on at parades, and to cover his ears on loud rides. We also did carry an extra outfit in a ziplock bag in our stroller. I did need to carry a lot of stuff, but more of it was for our older child than our infant!

This is what I did at Disneyland a couple of weeks ago and am planning the same for our WDW trip next week...

Dressed 1yo DD in shorts, t-shirt and fleece jacket in morning. I then carry her pajamas (long sleeves, long pants) with me. When the sun goes down, I change her into the pajamas and socks, adding the fleece jacket and a light fleece blanket as needed. She stayed plenty warm even without the blanket most evenings. Plus, if she falls asleep before we get back to the hotel room, she is already ready for bed.

I put a change of warm weather clothes and the pajamas together in a ziplock bag so that they will be ready to just throw into the bag. With the air pushed out, it doesn't take up a lot of room.

Have a great trip!!

My baby was given some all in one suits when she was born. Generally she doesn't wear these during the day, cause I don't really like them but I keep one in my diaper bag, and then if we have any accidents, I know I have something to change her into that covers all possibilities (otherwise I discover I've only packed a t-shirt and we need a spare pair of pants, or vice versa)

At disney, we took her sleepsuit with us, and changed her into he pj's when it cooled down - we have a nice fleecy sleeping bag that goes in her stroller, and we would tuck her up nice and cosy in her sleeping bag, and she would go to sleep in the evening while we strolled around the park.
