We're back!!
It's a girl!!
On Tuesday June 10th we welcomed little
:cloud9: Adara Hazel Antonina :cloud9:
into the world and our family.
She was 7lbs 3oz and 20 1/4 inches long.
She is precious and perfect and we are settling in at home.
I'll work on getting a photo up. I doubt I'll get caught up on the last 30 pages
of this thread though! You've all been busy!

Congratulations! Can't wait to see a picture when you feel up to it.
Welcome to the world baby Adara! How are Big Sister and Big Brother doing?

Can any of you testers out there or CarlaC let us know how much fabric the bowling shirt takes? I am going to get the Wall-e fabric from hancock today (they have it on hold for me) and want to get enough to make at least one shirt and maybe shorts for the other kid.

ETA- I have a size 4-5 and a size 2.

Which one do you plan on doing? There is the vertical stripe. the horizontal stripe and the plain shirt.

Thanks for the Father's day wishes!

Everyone's newest stuff is terrific!

I told DW and Leighanna that the only power tool I wanted for Father's Day and my birthday was a sidewinder! :rotfl: Pretty pathetic, huh?
But I have just about every other thing I need. I can only have so many screwdriver sets can't I?;)

Have a great day everyone!

:rotfl2: about the sidewinder. That is one intriguing little gadget, isn't it?

ETA- I have a size 4-5 and a size 2.

For a size 4-5, the most fabric you would need is 1 1/8 yards for the main fabric, plus 7/8 yards for the lining.

For a size 2, the most fabric you would need is 3/4 yard, plus 1/2 yard for the lining.

This is if you're making a solid shirt without contrast. But, I'd get these amounts even if you're not making it solid, just to be sure you have enough.

Then, you'll need contrasting fabric for whatever parts you're going to want to make contrast (the placket, the collar, stripes, sleeves)
It looks like you'd be good buying a yard of contrasting fabric for the 4/5 and 1/2 yard for the 2.

I had a nice multi quote going yesterday, then the computer shut off!!! There were some really cute things posted too!!!

The purple Ariel halter top, so cute!!! I definetely think you should make one for yourself

The cute whale outfit!! Love it!!!

STEPH! Arminda says it's better you tried that Marie outfit on Mickey than on Jacob!

Wendy, go to Hawaii!!! Just say NO to Campers on your anniversary!

That is just too cute and don't feel bad about making a size larger than what is needed. I have been doing that since Jenna was born.

I am back from the baby shower and the outfits that I made were a huge hit. Everyone there loved the things that I made and they were passed around to everyone at the party. Even the mommy to be liked them :scared1: . I really am shocked, because later she told me that she wouldn't wear anything that her mother made for her.

Crystal! All of those outfits turned out great!! No wonder she loved them! Thank you for sending me that link to the cute little dress! I am putting it in the bookmarks!! Yours turned out so cute, I just wish I had a baby shower to go to!

Yaaaa that's awesome!!! :thumbsup2

Really cute stuff posted today....Clare your DD is just adorable and I love that pleated outfit.

Well I finished one of 5 outfits for Sesame Place on Wednesday. Here is my DD3 modeling outside at dusk...hopefully the pics aren't too dark. Tomorrow is Father's Day and I don't know how much sewing I am going to get in. Anyways... here is the completed Zoe outfit which I showed part of before:

And DD wanted me to take a pic of her running to show you all how fast she can go!!!!

OK I am off to tuck everyone in...have a great night!!! :yay:

WOW!!!! SHE is FAST!!!!!!!   :cool1: :cool1:
The outfit turned out great!!! I just saw that Elmo and Zoe fabric at our Walmart the other day too!

FYI, I saw new HSM fabric at Wal-Mart tonight. One at the words on it, and the other one was pictures of all the characters faces. It was pretty cute!

I saw that at our Walmart too! I was so excited!!! We also have two differnt Hannah Montana fabrics, some new Dora, new Pooh and some others!!! I was super excited to see new stuff coming in again!!!

I finished the top I was making the applique for:

I am still debating on what to do for the pants. So far the two options are black with pawprints made from the spotted material and a red ruffle or spotted pants with black pawprints and a red ruffle. What do ya'll think??

I love this!!! It looks fantastic! Arminda would like to know if that is Jewel.

I finished my bowling shirt. Given the limits of using the fabric my DS picked out I am very happy with the final product. I was a bit scared to make a button down shirt but this one went together perfectly. Now I've got lots of ideas for other variations.

This turned out really great!!! Carla said that the book should be available this next week.

OK! My trip is booked! My meals are booked! We're going to Disney World! Woo Hoo! I did have to sacrifice a few meals that just weren't available (I'm sure because of free dining). However, we did get the biggest things that we wanted. We're booked at 1900 Park Fair, Rose & Crown, 50's Prime Time, O'Hana's, Norway Princess Dinner, Biergarten, Liberty Tree & Cinderella's Royal Table. I also booked Bibbity Boppity Boutique for the morning before Cinderella's Royal table. I'm PSYCHED!

I am so excited for you!!!! You got free dining, right??? That is so cool!

I think I am losing it!!! I read that entire page but I have this little nagging attention problem and about 10 minutes after I have read something I couldn't tell you anything I have just read. As a matter of fact as I was reading through all of the threads trying to find the current day stuff I read that page 2 times because I got half way through it the 2nd time and thought to myself "Man this seems familiar" Sad. That is why I hate patterns I have to read them like 10 times before I can manage to get the first step done. :rotfl: Maybe it is the 3 kids I have running around this zoo!! I don't remember things being that bad 10 years ago...oh wait my oldest is 10. Just kidding they are good kids but all 3 of them are wall climbers!

No problem!! I understand how that can be sometimes! I was just playing with you a bit anyway! ;)

And below is the Daisy Kingdom pattern on my DD4. I don't like the top/skirt combo (belly shows) though the one-piece dress version is nice....

Oh my goodness!!! How cute are these outfits and your girls!!! They are truly truly adorable!!!!

Sorry to have been mostly absent this week but I have been going crazy getting ready for our beach trip. I don't have pics of all the customs yet and I still have one more to do tonight (we are leaving in the am) but I wanted to share this one because I love how it turned out. I will take lots of pics and post when i get back. By then I will have probably 100 pages to catch up on. It is only like 15 now. LOL Well here it is, I fell in love with this whale fabric at joanns. I am making russell a shark outfit to coordinate.

Oh I did notice someone's birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAWYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I had seen this fabric at Joann's and loved it but thought "I have sooo much and I am unsure of what I would do." So like a fool on a budget I passed it up. Then I saw this and loved it and thought I have to get some, rushed there this am and GONE!!! :( WHAT HAVE I DONE??? Well DH and I are going to Tampa to see a Cubs game this week so while we are about I will have to detour to the nearest Joann's and take a looksee. Then next weekend we are headed to Miami for a track meet so if I don't find it I will have to look there. Man I am so disappointed. They are opening a new one here in Viera but I don't know when. I did however see the shirred Minnie purple material for dresses or tops there today:) So we have it in stock here if some one was still looking for it.

I am not sure if the applique is jewel. I just took the one that I liked the best from the coloring book I had and they are not labeled!!

It looks even cuter on! Hey, that kid is fast!

Cute! It looks perfect, I am glad you didn't scrap it. I like the idea of one leg of each, sounds cute!

Hey, it looks great! Aren't you glad I helped you with it? :rotfl: Well, I am here for support even if I am no help whatsoever.

Congratulations! :lovestruc Beautiful name.

In all th excitement, I forgot to say! We're staying at Carribbean Beach. We're DVC owners so it's been a long time since we've stayed in a non-villa resort. We always loved staying at Carribbbean Beach though.

We stayed there before we bought into the DVC. Be sure and sing "Kokomo" by the Beach Boys on the bus rides to and from the resort, like us! It totally entertained Jacob.

I made part of my JoJo applique that I was attempting, looks good so far I want to post a pic just have to take the time to figure out how. Goofy me though...forgot to get matching thread while I was at the store. DUH!!! My DMIL #1 (I Have 2) bought my daughter an 18in doll from Toys R Us for Christmas this year. Not AG but $100 for a doll just not in the budget right now. Maybe her next birthday depending on how nice this doll is. But anyway the point is now I get to make matching clothes for her and her dolly to wear!!! Yeah well that is a whole nother ballgame for me. I am gonna need a pattern for that.:rotfl:

You guys and your inspiration are unreal!!!

It sounds like you are doing great. I actually like making doll clothes. I bought patterns when they had a sale for 99 cents at JoAnn's and some of CarlaC's patterns come with doll sizes too.

Cute! It's too bad that the Daisy Kingdom one is too short, but it's adorable anyway.

STEPH! Arminda says it's better you tried that Marie outfit on Mickey than on Jacob!

No Jacob either. :( They did call today to wish Tom a happy Father's Day.

whew, I wasn't able to read the last couple of days, that was a lot to catch up with...

Let me see home much I can remember...

Cindee, I'm glad you all are okay. We had an accident right around Christmas in a parking lot, no one was ticketed but the guy who side swiped us said he was responsible. We both had the same insurance company but he had to pay. Some times the insurance folks can tell who's at fault regardless of tickets.

jham, your new fur baby is adorable!

A Happy Belated Birthday to Sawyer!

I love everyone's new outfits! I love the Sesame Street Zoe one! I had to hide that from Delaney. She'll want one and I just don't have time to sew that much right now.

Elisa, I don't blame you for keeping Ireland home, I'm always nervous in those places, there are too many people for the lifeguards to keep up with and no one is going to be as vigilant as you'd be with your own child. Good luck to Miss Alexis with her first week of school.

Delaney goes to camp starting tomorrow, she's in for ten weeks but it's only 3 hours a day, I'm looking forward to having the time to get some things organized. I have a big back to school consignment sale the end of July beginning of August, I'm hoping to get rid of a lot. I just had DH rent a larger storage room so I could have room to work, set up a printer and computer so I can use the online ticketing program and just work over there while Delaney's at camp for the next few weeks.

I'd better get back to work, I've got a few things to do before we head over to my parents' house for dinner.

I'm intrigued! Do you own a consignment store? What is the online ticketing?

Have fun at your parents!

Does anyone remember if the cupcake birthday cake, was on this thread or was it on #5? I looked and can't find...of course I skimmed quickly to.

thanks :hippie:

So I used the search function and found it......that is our theme for party this year...cupcakes.

Hmm, I like somebody else's suggestion of one for each leg but if you are going and it is still going to be really warm when it will be warm, I'd probably do the spotted pants since that might be cooler than all black.

By the way, it turned out adorable!

So what is the benefit of the sidewinder? Not having to rethread your needle when you need a new bobbin? I saw that Joann's had them on sale for $25 in their last flyer and was intrigued by them.

sick:sick: today only worked on this baby outfit

Hope you feel better! We are somewhat under the weather around here too. THe outfitis cute!

Has anyone worked with clear/plastic thread? What is the best way? Any tips?

If it is the clear/invisible thread that I have, good luck! It's not that terrible but it doesn't seem to sew quite as well as the regular thread. Maybe it's just me, but the tension does seem to need adjusting too when you use it.

Here is my Father's Day project!!! I wish I had realized that the dots weren't going to line up in the back...but oh well! Please, please, please don't anyone get upset thinking this was CASEd. Yes, I understand there are plenty of Minnie Dot dresses on here. But I did not intentionally CASE anyone. I promise.

Seriously, the more dresses I make, the more excited I get for our trip!!!! I've been amusing myself reading Heather/Theresa's trip report. Excellent job so far ladies. Only problem is my DD is questioning why I didn't make her THOSE dresses (especially the Giselle one). Try explaining to a 4 year old that you really aren't up to that level :rotfl2:

That is so cute. Jenna's dots didn't line up on her Minnie Dot dress. Nobody noticed.
