Oh my goodness Heather How cute are they!!!! I am so jealous we can't get that close to the animals at our zoo!! :crazy2: They look great!!! Now I have to go load a picture or two from our day at the zoo!!:rolleyes1

bclydia - Congratulations on the birth of your wee princess :cloud9:

Wendy - If you go to Hawaii you need to fill me on how it goes :)

:( half the pictures are missing so I can't see all the beautiful creations - maybe it's just my computer  What I did see was gorgeous as always :)

Well I've been absent again - this time I have an excuse. A friend (who I originally met online ) had a baby boy on monday - born sleeping at 28weeks :( I'm so upset for her and not sure what I can do to help -she's a bit too far away for me to cook for (about an hour drive each way) - I'm hoping to get to the memorial on friday but I feel in two minds as I'd have to take my girls and I'm worried that would offend her. It makes me hug my girls just that little bit tighter. A few of us are contributing to get her something - sort of a wee memorial and to let her know we are thinking of her.
Sorry for my ramble - brain is still overprocessing things atm :(

One of the girls is a cousins daughter the other is a friends daughter we all had a alot of fun!!
Well I guess we sort of got close the the giraffes too!!! LOL!!

We went to the zoo today! I made Sawyer and Tessa matching Go Diego Go shirts for the occasion. Tessa's is CarlaC's Simply Sweet dress, with a stripwork skirt attached. I was going to make it a dress, but decided to do a long shirt after she ripped her 3rd dress this month from crawling on it. :headache: Sawyer's is CarlaC's new bowling shirt pattern.

Here's Sawyer. He was sitting by some goats, but I tried to crop them out for YCMT.

They look so cute! I was going to insert a photo of Luke in his matching pajamas but I looked and I don't have a photo! :scared1: They were one of the first things I made. I'll have to take one...hmmm...I wonder if he is in his pj's yet. I love the photo of Sawyer excited after feeding the giraffes! I'll have to show Luke the pictures, he loves Diego. I don't want to interrupt him now though because he is vacuuming the tv room (yes, at 10:30pm--I take it when I can get it).

That is so heartbreaking! to your friend! As someone who has been through a similar experience my advice would be to just be there for her and let her talk about her baby boy. That is all I wanted to do when I lost my baby boy, but most people didn't want to talk about it or didn't know how to (thanks for bein' there Sugarbees!) I think they were afraid to see me cry, but that is what I needed to do.

Very cute! I planned to have Lily wear her AK outfit to the zoo last week, but we picked up our puppy instead. Now I don't know when we'll get to go. We have season passes, but I don't want to leave puppy alone that long. We'll have to go on a weekend and have DH puppysit while he does his homework.

Our puppy is doing great! She is such a sweetie. And as far as puppies go, she is really quite good so far. The kids ADORE her! Tonight I was watching Lily play with her for the longest time and I was just laughing it was sooooo sweet! :cloud9: I need to take some videos. But I did manage to finally sew something today! Of course it was a ways down on my "must sew" list, but it was what I felt like making. Thanks to you all I was wanting to make Lily's 4th of July outfit. I used the YCMT criss cross dress pattern. I liked it. It was pretty easy, except for threading all that elastic :bitelip: I did change the skirt because I had 1/2 yard of 4 different fabrics, so I made a fuller tiered skirt. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Just back from moms and my mom is the bomb! She helped with the bias tape and it looks great. Now, I have to try and attach the round neck pieces to the top. I am not sure if Sara beth will wear this to Disney yet. We have so many outfts planned and not enough days!
Yay for Mom!

The parts for the bracelet...I hunted everywhere for beads and gave up. I ended up buying wooden beads at AC Moore and painted them and the Minnie is polymer. Then I put it on clear stretchy string from the jewelry making dept. I couldn't do any clasps because DD would break out.:( And the shoes...yeah I painted those. I got Mickey scrapbooking button things and traced them and then freehanded the bows the best I could. Thank you so much!
WOW! You did an incredible job on the bracelet and shoes!!!! Did you do the socks with ribbon or fabric? How much bigger is the ruffle? It is just 2 times or more? Thanks!!!

ok ladies and gents
you have truly inspired me, i love to look at everything you have done, and have finally gotten the courage to go fabric shopping. i got an adorable pink fabric with black mickey mouses on it and i am going to attempt to make dd2 a dress for our august trip. now if only i could bring myself to cut it. well hopefully when dh is off from one of his two jobs i can find a free hour. well thanks again and keep the great stuff coming. i absolultely love it. also ds5 loves to look with me and is thrilled to see some boy stuff. thanks again from a new girl:)
You can do it!

Yesterday a.m. I noticed my DD3 had the most swollen little ankle. Couldn't even see the bone on the outside of the ankle it was so swollen. (Now as a backdrop...from the time she was about a year til about 2 or 2.5 she had nothing but problems. She had impentiago on her legs which in one spot turned into cellulitis (pardon the spelling) had probably 4 boils at different times around the line that her diaper touched the skin, every time she got a little scratch she was sure to have a lovely infection and either more cellulitis or another boil) So I see this bite on her ankle which is not even touching the discolored area and I think well is it related or no. Because around the swollen area it was HOT and there was also some bruising. So I drive her an hour away to a differnt DR because hers is booked and he says "is she complaining of anything else" I say "no why?" he says" She has a bad ear infection and what looks to be strep starting in her throat" I could not believe it. Still at this point you would never know this child has a thing wrong. I guess the swelling came from the bite but still have no clue what got her. Just can't believe it. This is the 4th time she has had this happen that we end up at the dr only to find she has something else going on with not one symptom. I think she must have the highest tolerance for pain of all of my monkeys.
Hope she recovers quickly!:wizard:

hey again everyone. I've been missing you all so much. What great creations we have come up with while i've been down and out. Im finally to the point where I can sit for a lil while at the computer chair and not be in great pain. I can't possibally catch up with all of you. I go to the doctor 2morrow to look at my incision to see when I can drive, and do house work again. It has been 2 weeks, and my laundry is tremendous. I still am not to the point where I can bend over and pin, and sew so we'll ahve to wait for any creations from me. Thanks for the prayers.
:wizard: Best wishes for your recovery!!!!

My grass is on there! :rotfl2: I spaced on a picture with the kid inside...
I LOVE the grass photo! It goes so well with that shirt!

Oh no, what a terrible tragedy. I'll pray for your friend and her family (and you).

Thanks for training that boy to be a good husband, vacuuming and all! :lovestruc

 for you. My sister-in-law lost her baby boy when he was 6 months old to SIDS. She says that no one ever wants to talk about him and it breaks her heart. I can't imagine pretending that he never existed.

Gee whizz you breed them cute don't you?? :) :cloud9:

Why, yes I do! :rotfl2:

Okay my ever so talented, ever so giving of helpful information new famly. I have indeed found out that the skirt I want to make is the insa pattern. Has anyone ever used that particular pattern? Got some ?'s if you have.

Also I am thinking about taking the leap into the world of the ruffler....my question is how do I determine how long of a strip to make for this particular thing. In other words if I start out with 20 inches (just for s&g as I know that is no where near enough) what will I end up with and will I always end up with that same length if I always have my ruffler set to the same notch? Thank you so much.

I found the most adorable fabric at a Quilt store in a city near where I live. I think it is going to be a great match up to go with the JoJo shirt. Only thing is I wanted to find a coordinating set of polka dot fabrics to match and that seams to be the issue I am now having. But onward I will persue.:moped:)

Thanks so much for any help you can lend.

(I am enjoying a wonderful thunderstorm right now. They make for a beautiful backdrop to a mid afternoon nap.:cloud9:

My youngest one does the same thing to me! We go in for a well check-up and she has a double ear infection. They look at me like I'm crazy when I say she doesn't have any symptoms! And the whole thing makes me feel like a good mommy!

Feeding the elastic through has not been my favorite part. I think I am going to remake the top on my first dress (since I have enough extra fabric left over) since it was a little tight. So now, instead of just getting to do it twice, I will get to do it three times    ! I hate the idea of the girls wearing a dress that is uncomfortable on them so I'll just bite the bullet and redo it. I figure I'll get at least one of them 100% completed today and hopefully the second (make that third) top done.

First,   to you.

Second, I have made the criss cross dress following the pattern and feeding elastic through - not so much fun. The second one I made I shirred the back. I actually like it better shirred. It has a softer appearance to it, if that makes sense.

Back to lurking, I have a sick 3 year old today. She was sitting watching Curios George this morning after breakfast. I heard her cough a little than looked up to see her covered in vomit. Fun! The thing I can't figure out (and this is probably too much information) is what the red stuff was in the vomit. It was definitely not blood, more like a artificial red coloring. She hasn't has anything red to eat that I know of.:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Wow! That is so good, especially for a beginner! You're a brave woman to start with an outfit that zips. Way to jump right in! Your daughter is SOOO pretty!

thank you. I didn't really have a choice Nikki picked it out and I bought it and didn't even realize it would have a zipper until after i started it and needed more supplies:lmao: Thankfully my mom is a great sewer and I called her for some tips and some one here was a huge help and posted about YCMT video on how to put in a zipper. Not the greatest but with practice hopefully it will get better:scared1:

Those pictures at the zoo are so cute! Love the outfits!

Question for all of you. I love those round neck tops and dresses but it looks like YCMT only has them up to a size 7 which my dd is now BUT I would like to have the pattern last since it isn't cheap. Am I missing it and there is a larger size? Or does any one know if another company sells one?

Hi Boutique Ladies....

I have a question. DD5 has a dress from the Disney store and a corner of the princess decal has peeled off. It's all in one piece and I would love to repair it, but don't know if that's possible. It's one of those iron on transfer types.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Two suggestions:

!. Have you posted this on the Creative DISigns board? They work with those decals a lot, so they may know a bit better than some of us. Just a thought.

2. If I had to guess, I would say cover the decal with a piece of cloth, and apply a heated, dry iron.

That's my best guess. Sorry I can't tell you for sure.

FANTASTIC!! Job on the outfits! I bought the pattern, printed out all the pieces..and said...forget it! LOL. I'm not brave enough for that one...
I went back and bought something simpler to do...this flu I have is really getting to me...I have no energy and just barely make it in to work...
Tessa is such a little doll...Ireland got to feed giraffes before and their tongues feel like sandpaper and are very dry...weird..:lmao:

I saw a round neck pattern at Wal-Mart. It was by the company that they have displayed on the shelves, not one of the companies that they put in the drawers. If that makes since. My brain's not working this morning, so I can't remember who it was by.

I hate the idea of the girls wearing a dress that is uncomfortable on them so I'll just bite the bullet and redo it. I figure I'll get at least one of them 100% completed today and hopefully the second (make that third) top done.

good luck! I made an outfit for Lily I love but the elastic in the back is too snug. I think she has worn it twice :(

The first time I shirred it was perfect, easy, great...every attempt since then has been less than stellar :confused3 now I'm a little askeered of it. Sorry Lauren is sick!

You can buy a craft glue at Walmart called E6000 that you can use to glue something on to fabric and it will survive the wash (not sure about the dryer). It is kind of thick so maybe you could spread it out on the back of your decal and glue it on. I've been impressed with how well it works.

Thanks for everyone's    about my DS. He was born and died 13 years ago last Monday so this is usually a hard week for me.

I saw a round neck pattern at Wal-Mart. It was by the company that they have displayed on the shelves, not one of the companies that they put in the drawers. If that makes since. My brain's not working this morning, so I can't remember who it was by.

thanks! Now i just have to fid a Wal Mart around me that sells patterns and fabric. Which was on my list to do any way:cool2:

I just made a home made shorts pattern for shorts for my son and cut the fabric and I am hoping to TRY to put it together today. I only had a small amount of fabric and with the pattern I was hoping to just sew up the center. Unfortunately since the amount of fabric is small I have some more seams to do but hopefully he will like them. When I am done I will post them if they are presentable.... If not forget I even mentioned I was making them... LOL

Not the most clear pictures of Tessa's outfit, but you get the idea:
