Here is the special email I received just now regarding access to Diagon Alley before opening day.

Dear Guest, We are excited for your visit to Universal Orlando® Resort. We would like to update you on some important details about your trip.

You purchased an Exclusive Vacation Package featuring The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Diagon Alley™ and you are scheduled to arrive prior to our July 8th grand opening. This means you will experience a special preview of the new land. Our goal is for the preview to include everything Diagon Alley™ has to offer.

Our preview schedule is during set times each day – and those times will vary. Upon check-in at your hotel, you will receive the scheduled hours for your special preview of Diagon Alley™ and directions on how to enter the land. And for your planning purposes, this may mean that we will ask you to have lunch or dinner inside the Leaky Cauldron™ rather than breakfast. If this is necessary, your new dining time will be provided upon check-in at your hotel. As always, operating hours and availability of specific attractions and shows are subject to change.

We hope you are as excited to visit Universal Orlando Resort as we are to host you. And we will work hard to make sure your experience within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Diagon Alley™ and across our entire resort is a special one for you and your family. If you have any questions during your stay, please contact us at (800) 407‑4275.

Yours sincerely,
Fernando Flores

Wow, that's BS, lunch or dinner.

I'd rather have dinner or lunch there instead of breakfast. The menu looks delicious.

They really didn't learn anything from last time about opening for packages too early.

I'm just hoping they offer something to those staying onsite :) arriving in just a few more days

I think what would tick me off the most is the fact that lunch or dinner is at THEIR discretion, they decide the time, not you. I'm still on the fence about the package, it would cost us more $$$ (most of it due to the extra night we would have to book at ~$400) Sounding like they really don't have it together.....

I think it is awesome you will get in before the massive crowds! Have fun!

I don't really see much of a downside to this. You get to go in early with a set amount of people (yes!) and you still get the meal that was part of your package though it may not be the one you expected. I'd take that opportunity. (We don't go until December).

I think they are deciding the time because they are still working on Gringotts and need to schedule a specific time for guests to ride it between their periods of time working on it.

You're right that they don't have it together yet.

Lucky!!! I wish we had access to a "special preview". We'll be there the last week of August and I'm quite concerned about the crowds.

I'd happily swap breakfast for dinner, too. Dinner's a more substantial meal anyway.

Lucky ducks! The change from breakfast to lunch or dinner seems trivial when you will apparently be able to experience Diagon Alley without crowds!
