I was wondering if anybody has done the Discovery Magic, Deluxe Magic or Grand Plan. Do you thik you got your monies worth or you just had the convience of pre-paying.

Thanks.

Everything I've read says the packages are more for convience than for actually saving money. We used the magic packages - with the pick one thing for each member of your party - years ago. It was nice to have the character breakfast and then walk away with a smile and wave, without a bill.

The best thing is to break things down and decide how much everything costs and what you'll actually use. The problem is there is so much extra 'stuff' that you could do without out the Unlimited park hopper. The Grand plan seems like too much food.

Packages are tricky and sometimes can cost you more by using them. DH and I did the Discovery Magic and we won't ever be doing that again. It was nice eating whatever we wanted and not having to worry did we bring enough money, but in the long run we lost money because I didn't use the wishes correctly. I've figured next year when we go, it's just going to be cheaper to book everything separately. I don't want Ultimate Park Hopper passes because DH and I don't visit the parks on our first and last days so we've lost money there. Some people love the packages and I did enjoy my spa treatments and the Hoop Dee Doo (things I wouldn't have done without it), but it's just so much cheaper doing it on our own. Also with the packages, it's been figured if you're there for anything less than 6 days, it can be hard to get the most out of your wishes. You need 6 full days in Disney (travel time not included) to get your monies worth as I figured it out. It all depends on you, but if you want the convenience, then go for it! I'm sure no matter what you do, you'll enjoy it. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!

If you do your homework, you can make the packages work for you. I'm using the Discovery Magic package in a few weeks for my honeymoon. I found a code tht saved me about $1000, then I researched the components of the package and read about how others had used it. I found that each wish equals about $35, so you should use the wishes for things that would cost more than that to get your money's worth. With a little extra planning, I think you can come out ahead with this particular package. :)

Here are links regarding the current vacation plans:

Deluxe Magic
Discovery Magic

The main thing the various packages give you is convenience. Sometimes that little fact is worth its weight in gold. Only you can make that decision, however. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have a magical vacation.
