Package Pick-Up at Resort

We are staying at Pop Century this July!

I've been doing some planning (understatement!) and I have a question I'm hoping someone will have an answer to!

When you have your purchases from the parks sent back to your resort gift shop, what is the timeline in order to pick them up?
Does it have to be the very next day, or can it be 2 days? etc.

For example, if we buy something and have it sent to our resort, but the next night we are gone doing Evening EMH, by the time we get back to POP the gift shop will be closed! Can we go the next morning and pick them up?

I think we will run into this situation about 2-3 times during our trip.

Thanks in advance!!

If I remember right my packages showed up in my hotel room the next day, I don't remember ever having to pick them up at the gift shop? They arrived while we were at the parks, we didn't need to be in the room.

My last experience was about a year ago, perhaps it's changed since?

Once your package has arrived at the resort gift shop, you will get a phone message saying that it has arrived. If you can't pick it up till the next day, they will keep the package and send you another "Reminder" message on your room voice mail.

Also, here's the timeline that they will arrive. If I purchase today, they are planned to arrive at the gift shop after Noon (I think) the following day. There is a cutoff of how late you can purchase stuff and have it arrive the next day but, I'm not sure when it is.... or maybe the CM was misinformed when they told me that.

Extraredstuff: If they delivered it to you rroom, you got quite lucky. They are only supposed to deliver packages to the resort gift shop.

It has been years since I've had a package delivered directly to my room unless staying Concierge.

The previous poster is correct. You will have a phone message letting you know that your package(s) have arrived and will need to be picked up at the gift shop for your resort. You will need to bring either the receipt with you or your photo ID as they will not release the package to you otherwise. That's for your protection as well as theirs. :flower:

Some times they do deliver to the room but often they send it to the gift shop at the resort. You must have at least 24 hours left on your stay to have anything delivered.

Thanks for all your responses!

I just want to clarify something though... Is it possible to pick it up at the gift shop 2 days later? (the day after the phone message)

Is there a time limit as to when I need to pick up the purchases? Do I have to ensure I pick them up by X # of days/hours?

I guess I'm concerned that they won't keep them if I am not there by a certain time (even though I've paid for them)... Silly I know but I just have to check :)

Anyone?

Will I have to come back early to pick up my packages from an Evening EMH or can I wait to pick them up 2 days later?

No need to come back early, they'll hold them. We've done just as you asked, stayed late in the parks, and didn't get them til a couple of days later.

Can this also be done at DTD? If you buy something and don't feel like carrying it around, can you tell the CM that you are staying onsite have it sent to your resort? Or can you only do it inside the parks?

Thanks!

Thanks so much!!! Makes it much easier to go with my current plans of Disney consumption

It is free! I've always charged it to our room, and then asked (or responded when they ask) for it to be sent to my resort. I pick it up in the resort gift shop the next day... and now I can pick it up a few days later as well!
You just have to bring your receipt with you.

The package delivery is a great perk for staying on-site. I love never having to worry about lugging our purchases around all day. They will deliver from any of the parks, resorts or DTD back to your resort gift shop. I do miss having it delivered to the rooms but I realize that is costly for them.

You can wait a few days to pick up your purchases but you will continue to get reminders. As long as you don't care about the messages I would assume you could leave your stuff at the gift shop for several days without worry.

Do they deliver to the DVC resorts too? We will be staying at Old Key West. Is there a gift store there or do we pick up packages elsewhere? Thanks for info!

What a great service :flower: Could be dangerous though LOL

DH said the samething about it being dangerous. LOL!!! He told me at least if I had to carry everything around, I would remember how much I bought and not want to buy anymore. YEAH RIGHT!!! ;) But since you can buy and then have it sent to your resort, he is wondering now if that is a good thing for me to know or not for our next trip. ;) Never took advantage of this service on our last trip. Really didn't buy anything though.
But now that I have more time to plan, I am planning alot of "play" money for Mommy. LOL!!!

Are packages still delivered to your room if you stay concierge?
