Hi all!

I'm hoping someone can help me out a bit. (If this is the wrong spot, please feel free to move this post) How many of you, when booking a package vacation, have had your airfare added onto the package? I am thinking about doing this with my trip next December, just to make life easier for me and the people travelling with me, but I am wondering if it would be cost effective to book the all inclusive package, or to book my airfare independently? I appreciate any and all help you all could give me!

Until next time,
John

My family went to Disney :earsboy: in January '05 and I saved so much money booking everything seperate. I waited and booked the airfare approximately 8 weeks before we left (on travelocity's lowfare alert) and paid $113.00 pp round trip from Detroit. :cheer2: It saved us a ton!! Booking everything seperate is a pain, but well worth it if your pinching pennies!! :grouphug: Good luck and I hope you enjoy trip!! We are going again in January '06. :cool1:

Hi John,

I'm going to be a first-timer at Disney this October, but in all my travels I always book through a travel agent so I get my airfare, hotel and activites all in one. For the upcoming trip, it will be me and my father flying out of Iowa on Northwest, staying 5 nights at the Beach Club, Park Hopper passes for 4 days, Magic Your Way Dining package for 5 days, Cirque du Soilel tickets (best seats you can get)...all came in at about $3,100. Not sure if that is the "best" rate, but I'll spend more to not have to spend countless hours trying to arrange everything myself. Plus, if anything goes wrong, I just call the travel agent and have her deal with it.

I can see your point about going through a travel agent for saving headaches. But when your planning a trip for four or more people it gets very costly. I saved my family approximately $1800.00 by booking it seperately. Everything went off without a hitch and we had not one issue with any part of the trip. (Not saying it doesn't happen) I guess by following up on everything before we left helped. So if money is not a huge issue than I totally agree with going through a travel agent. I hope you enjoy your first trip to Disney as much as we did..... It trully is magic!! :cloud9:

But was thinking of booking a Flight plus Hotel to Disney. I went on Overstock.com and they have a deal for Nov. where I pay hotel and Flight and its about the same amount I am paying for Just the ROOM! :confused3 However, I still need transportation from the Airport, and would most likely cost more, however, 1 hour versus 4.5 hours by bus or train is something I need to think about.

Hi there! I think too that it probably depends on where you live. I am from Nebraska, and it seems that I get a better deal when booking directly with Disney. This year for 3 RT tickets it cost $650. We thought it was a good deal. Good luck to you!
